Chapter 11 Confusion and pain

Anna's pov

It's been a week and I still haven't heard from Ev. I'm starting to get worried.

Ever since last month I've been getting bullied by Luke, bad. Everyday I get punched and kicked and called these terrible things. I can't believe Ev goes through this.

Today we have to run the mile. Everyone complains about running, but I enjoy it. I was on the track team for 5 years, but so was Luke. Luke and I are the fastest of the school, so we usually come in 1st.

Anyways I better get dressed and ready for school.

Today I'm wearing hot pink athletic shorts, a grey sweatshirt, black converse, and some bracelets and a necklace. I put my hair in a top not and put on my black headband. Then I grabbed my backpack, phone, and headed out the door.

I have to pass Luke's house on the way to the bus. Yay.

I just put in my earbuds and started walking.

Once I was 7 years old
My mama told me go get
Yourself some friends or
You'll be lonely, once I was
7 years old.

I love this song it's so pretty. I never sing along to songs unless it's this song.

I've never been comfortable singing in front of people but I've been told I have a good voice so I don't know. I think it's bad, but people tell me otherwise.

I looked up and realized I passed Luke's house! Yes!!! I only have 2 blocks to go.

I looked down at my phone to check the time when I saw a shadow next to mine. Oh gosh. I've been singing in front of someone the whole time!

" Are done screeching." Luke complained. Of course it would be Luke behind me I pass his house duh.

I rolled my eyes at his comment.

" Have you heard from Ev?" He asked.

" First of all, don't call her Ev, you don't deserve to after what you've put her through. Second of all why would I tell you." I replied

" Dang, you're snappy." He smirked

" Leave me alone." I said as I sprinted to the bus stop.

: At school :

I'm at my locker getting my books for math and science when Luke comes over and pushes me to the ground.

I grimace is pain, but try to keep myself together.  It's gets better, it will, it has to. If it got better for Ev it will get better for me. I mean that's what everyone says.

Then he kicks me in my stomach, my side, and my head.

I didn't feel anything after that so I opened my eyes and I saw him staring at my bracelets. Oh gosh. No no no no no! Nobody is supposed to know I do that!
