Evelyn's pov
I woke up to the sound of my mother screaming. What a lovely morning.
As I walked down the stairs I couldn't help but smile. Luke and I are finally friends again. I'm trying to forgive him and I know it will take time, but he was so sincere and honest about everything.
" Look who decided to finally wake up." My mom grumbled
Ignoring her I continued to get my breakfast, sit down and enjoy the most important meal of the day.
Once I was finished I went upstairs to get ready for the day. I got dressed in my black leggings, peach tanktop, and black vans. Then I curled my hair, painted my nails and did light makeup. Once I looked at myself and saw I looked good, I grabbed my phone and headed out for a walk.
It's nice just walking with no destination in mind, it's like an adventure. You can go anywhere and see everything, it's great.
I decided I'd take a walk down town and maybe go to Starbucks.
I look to my left and see a little antique shop and on my right is Starbucks, so i figured I'd go to Starbucks first.
" Hi I'll take a Venti strawberry refresher" I say to the cashier
" Okay that'll be $4.39." She said as I handed her the money
" Have a nice day."
" You too." I replied as I made my way down to the other counter to pick up my drink.
Once I grabbed it I decided to take a seat outside. It's a beautiful day, sunny with a cool breeze.
I was looking around when I heard someone walk behind me.
" Hey Ev." I heard Annas voice
" Anna?" I said as I got up and hugged her
I hate fighting with her. I can't stay mad at her no matter how hard I try. This was the longest fight we've ever had and I hate it. It felt nice to hug my best friend again.
" Listen can we talk?" I asked when she nodded immediately
"I actually came here to talk things out." She says smiling and taking a seat.
" Listen, I'm so sorry I overreacted. I completely understand that you've been through a lot and I know it's hard. The reason I got so upset was because I felt like you didn't care about me. I felt like I was your last priority. But I know now that that's not at all true and I apologize for taking this too far." Anna apologized with tears in her eyes.
" Listen, if anyone should be sorry it's me. I'm so sorry for putting myself above you and making you feel like that. I'm sorry I chose Luke over you, I will never do that ever again. Anna you are my best friend and nothing could change that. So I'm sorry for being a pain in the neck, I feel so bad about everything." I said looking down ashamed.
" It's okay Ev, I forgive you." Anna said grabbing my hands
" And I forgive you." I said smiling as we hugged.
" By the way Luke and I broke up but we cleared things up." I explained to her
" Yeah he came to my house yesterday and explained everything. I'm just happy we can be the 3 musketeers again." She laughed slinging her arm around my shoulder.
" Me too, An. Me too." I breathed out resting my head on her shoulder.
Finally everything's back to normal and it couldn't be better.
----- Later at Ev's house -----
" That movie was terrible." Luke said shaking his and rubbing his face as if he could erase the memory of it.
We were currently all sitting on Luke's couch in his apartment. I was in the middle with Luke on my Left and Anna on my right. We just finished watching The Fault In Our Stars and me and Anna are a basket case. A box of tissues wasn't enough for the both of us.
" Terrible! How is that terrible." Anna yelled wiping her eyes with a tissue.
" Because it's all mushy gushy." He said disgusted
" She found true love and then he died!" I yelled crying
" Ev I think you need to calm down." He said laughing while I just glared at him.
We were discussing the movie when Calum walks through the door along with Michael and Ashton.
" Don't you guys knock?" I asked laughing
After Anna and I fixed things we went to Luke's too see him talking to them and eventually we all patched things up and became closer friends.
" Yeah yeah maybe you should lock the door then." Michael laughed
" Please Mikey we all know you have a spare key." Anna laughed.
Lately her and Michael have been hitting it off great.
" Anna that was our secret!!" He said with fake anger as we all started laughing
" Anyways why were you crying?" Calum asked us
" We just finished watching some chick flick and it really got to them" Luke said pointing at us and rolling his eyes. I just slapped him and gasped but we both ended up laughing.
" It wasn't just some chick flick it was The Fault In Our Stars." Anna explained as all the boys groaned
" I hate that movie." Ashton said taking a seat next to me.
" Yeah to girly." Michael said sitting next to Anna.
" It ruins my manly self." Calum said sitting in front of me on the bean bag.
" Like you had any in the first place." I mumbled quietly but loud enough for him to hear me. He gave me a shocked expression while we all busted out laughing.
" Hey remember when.." Luke started a story from grade 9
So this is how things ended up. I was back to being best friends with Luke, Anna and Michael are hitting it off. And I finally have family. They might not be blood related but that doesn't make them any different. I found love in my best friend. My mom seems to be getting better, and I finally have a stronger relationship with my friends.
This is how it's supposed to be. Just me, my friends, and my mom.
Sometimes you feel like your living in a broken home, but eventually things will get better.
