Chapter 10
*Harry's POV*
"Are you ready yet?" I yell to Louis while pouring a protein shake into a blue water bottle. I screw on the lid and take a swig, almost gagging at how thick the drink is.
He enters the room wearing a white beater and black shorts, "let's head out." I check my pockets to make sure I have everything. Once I felt my phone, car keys and headphones in place, I grab my water bottle and start for the door.
Louis and I were going to a nearby gym for a couple of hours. I haven't worked out in
a while and I felt like I needed to get back into shape. I step out the front door and am greeted by heavy droplets of water falling onto my face. "I hate rain!" Louis groans, throwing his hands over his head.
I laugh but then suddenly stopped, something about this moment sent chills up my spine, sending me into déjà vu. I shake off the feeling and unlock my car, falling onto the comfortable seat.
"How was your date yesterday anyways? You barely talked about it last night," he changes the subject.
I keep my concentration on the road but I can feel my body starting tense up. Last night I put all my thought into Ciara, trying to figure things out in my head. "Not too good," I reply, making a sharp left turn.
"Why?" He asks. I could see him staring at me out of the corner of my eye.
I'm debating on whether to tell Louis about everything or not, it would feel good to let it out to someone I trust. "Not what I expected," I bite my tongue, leaving out the major details.
"Well what were you expecting? It's not like it was a man like Zayn had mentioned, right?"
"Not quite," I laugh, looking over to him for a quick second before returning my eyes back to the road. His elbow's propped on the car door and his hand is supporting his chin up.
Louis was able to tell that I was becoming frustrated with the subject so he started to calm me down a bit, "Harry, I've known you for three years and the only person I've ever seen you with is Maggie," he says in a soft voice. I grip the steering wheel tighter, I wasn't sure how to reply to him.
I don't think Maggie deserved me. I think from the start of our relationship I knew she would be trouble, leaving me heartbroken at some point in time. But there was something about her that made me stay, made me fall in love with her more and more each day until she just, cheated on me.
"Oh, and then there was that one night stand," Louis chuckles.
"What?" I shriek, stopping the car. Louis' eyes become wide and he has a confused expression on his face. No cars were behind us considering we were on a back street so I didn't plan on moving the car until I discovered what I needed to know.
"A one night stand, I think we've all had them before..." Louis gave me strange look, probably wondering why I'm acting so eery. I feel my back hit the leather seat and I put my hands up to my head.
"What was her name?" I ask, clenching my fists. He takes a look down at my hands, noting my anger.
"I don't remember," he replies, "why does it matter? Was she that good?" He teases.
"Louis! Think!" I demand, hitting the steering wheel with my palms, causing the vehicle to beep. He's startled by the sudden noise, I don't think he was expecting me to get so aggravated over the "one night stand," subject. If Ciara hadn't of told me the things she admitted to me yesterday, I don't think I would make a big deal out of this information now. In all honestly, when I get drunk, I know I get hammered. I can't control myself half the time and anything could of happened that night.
I could actually have a child with a girl I barely know.
"I don't know Harry! We called her Birthday Girl because she was celebrating her birthday!" He yells back.
I jumble my mind for an explanation, I never asked Ciara when her birthday was. Out of all the fucking questions I asked, I didn't ask her the most common one. "What ended up happening?" I groan, frightened of what he might say next.
"She came back to our flat and you two spent the rest of the night in your room," he answers, annoyance showing in his voice. "What's the big deal!"
I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore, I just began babbling out everything Ciara told me last night. From how she met me at a bar two and a half years ago to how she had a child, that was supposedly mine. It's been driving me insane, not being able to talk to someone about this issue. Letting out all my feelings to Louis felt like a huge weight was lifted off my chest.
"Fuck," Louis whispers, running his hand through his hair after I tell him everything. I'm glad that I wasn't the only person who thought this situation was so messed up. "The odds of this all falling into place so perfectly..." He searches for an accurate word.
"Is fate?" I cut in, looking out the window at the rain drops that left streaks down the tinted windows.
"Exactly, what does she look like?" He inquires.
I breath out, it wasn't hard to picture her face in my thoughts. Ciara's been the only thing on my mind for the past couple of days. "Well, she has dark brown hair and she kept running her fingers through her bangs. Ciara's eyes are bright blue but I swear when I looked into them long enough they turned a deep grey. She was just really, really pretty." I look back over to Louis, he had a big smile on his face. "What?" I ask, wondering why he would be so cheerful.
"I'm most certain that you just described Birthday Girl."
