Chapter 40

*Ciara's POV*

Harry was entertaining Mason while I cleaned up the dishes from dinner. It was nothing special, just some homemade soup I prepared in less than twenty minutes. Harry and I were getting sick of all the gourmet shit we've been eating the past few weeks, so we decided to do something simple. Which obviously ended up being soup.

My mind still was wandering among what had happened this morning. How Harry was so gentle and loving when I dropped the dish made me realize, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Harry is my light, and I'm finally free after being stuck in the tunnel for years. There's no more Mike. No more abuse. No more sleepless nights where I'm too busy worrying about mine and my son's safety to get some rest. Just happiness and love, nothing more than the dream everyone wants to live.

And that's what we have. We finally are living the dream.

Harry sneezes and snaps me out of my daze. I look over to him and kind of laugh, his sneeze is so high compared to his regular voice. "Bless you," I say, stifling a laugh.

"Thank you, but don't think that I don't see you laughing at my feminine sneeze." Harry brushes his wrist against his nose and smiles.

"Bless you!" I hear Mason say and both Harry and my eyes light up. I look at Mason, who kind of has a smug look on his face as if he's been saving up all day to impress us.

"Did he..." I start but then Harry fakes a sneeze again.

"Bless you!" Mason says again and Harry gives him a wide smile.

"Thanks buddy!" Harry replies and gives Mason a squeeze.

I breathe in some air and release something that sort of sounds like a sneeze. I over-exaggerate my motions and it probably looked like I was about to fall on the ground, but Mason was talking! After months of not talking, he was actually talking!

"Bless you!" Mason says once again and I thank him with a huge smile on my face. Before I know it, Harry and I are both pretending to sneeze like crazy and Mason keeps saying 'bless you, bless you, bless you.'

I walk over to Mason and kneel down next to him, engulfing him in a hug. "I love you so much," I whisper in his ear, because I do. I love him more than anything in this entire world, nobody could ever compare to the bundle of joy wrapped in my arms.

Harry breathes out. "That was the best moment of my life." Harry says with his eyes locked on Mason. I fight back a tear, for Harry to say that means so much to me. I'm glad he feels what I feel towards Mason, because Harry probably has had so many moments in his life that are a close second to this moment. But for Harry to say that this was the best moment of his life, tickles my heart.

"I think it was mine too," I admit.

"Close at second was the day I met you." Harry looks to me and I smile.

"If only you could have remembered," I say in a joking tone and Harry laughs a little.

"Can't you just let me be a little romantic?" Harry sighs and takes my hand into his. He rubs his thumb against mine and I rest my head on his shoulder while we both watch Mason, who is now looking looking back at us.

"We should add this to Mason's baby book!" Harry says after a moment of silence and jumps up, running down the hall into our room.

"A baby book? What are you talking about?" I scream and Mason crawls into my lap at the opportunity. I string my arms around his tiny body and begin kissing his cheeks, which causes him to laugh and use his tiny hands to push me away. I was clueless as to what Harry was referring to, a baby book? More like one more thing I tried to get back the day with Jordan and it wasn't there. I feel a dagger in my heart and shut my eyes at the thought of my deceased best friend.
