Chapter Two
Liana arrived at school and made her way to the class list board. Every year they posted the class lists on a board near the office and the students would look at it before making their way to homeroom. Liana walked in the main entrance which led to the office building and headed towards the board where a few students were already gathered. The students saw her coming and quickly scattered, as if they would catch her crazy. She grinned, sometimes it was helpful being labelled crazy. She quickly discovered her name and started making her way to room 36.
The school wasn’t very big and the rooms were all located in one building which was four stories high. The first floor was the office building which also had the teacher’s staff room, library, nurse’s office, cafeteria and the principal’s office. The second floor had the Science and Maths rooms, the third floor had the English and Arts room and finally the fourth floor held all the other classrooms. Liana’s homeroom, room 36 was located on the third floor. She walked in through the main entrance and went over to the stairs. Only teachers and disabled students were able to use the elevator, but that of course did not stop some students. She climbed her way up the stairs, ignoring the whispers and stares of the other early students. Finally she reached her homeroom and took her favourite seat which was in the back row, by the window.
The room was pretty plain with 30 student desks set into five rows both ways. Since her homeroom was an English room, the walls were covered in Essay’s written by previous students, pictures of Shakespeare plays like Romeo and Juliet and then a couple of random posters which the teacher liked, for example the famous kitty ‘Hang in there’ poster. There was a teacher’s desk at the middle, centre of the room which held barely anything except a couple pieces of paper. Then on the left hand side of the room was almost a whole wall covered with a window, which was were Liana sat.
Liana liked to sit next to the window because whenever she got bored she could look out across the back field. She also liked the back because if she sat in the front the other students would talk about her but at the back they never did, ‘out of sight, out of mind’ she guessed.
Slowly the students started making their way in until finally the bell signalling the start of homeroom rang. Of course the seats in front and beside Liana were left unoccupied. This was the case every year so she didn't mind. Mr. Marshall strode into the classroom, quieting the students. Mr. Marshall was an older man of around 50 and his thinning hair was turning grey. Mr. Marshall had brown eyes which twinkled with mischief at times. Liana liked Mr. Marshall.
“Good morning, class, nice to see you back again! Now don’t get too excited but we have a new student with us. Come in, Acario,” Instantly the class broke out into excited whispers and even Liana couldn’t help but admire the new student. Acario was a handsome boy of tall stature. She could tell just by looking at him that he was very confident in himself but there was something off about him. Liana was very good at reading people so she was very curious as to what that could be. Acario was a very handsome boy with piercing blue eyes and spiky black hair. You could see well defined muscles through his t-shirt which was plain black which he paired with a pair of blue jeans.
“Yes, yes, he’s very good looking now settle down,” Liana chuckled to herself, it was comments like those which made her like Mr. Marshall. “Acario is new so I want you to make him feel welcome. There’s a seat down the back next to Liana,” Liana grinned in happiness as many girls short her a glare which didn’t go unnoticed by Flora who stood behind her. Flora laughed,
