I was struggling to not just jump forward and snatch the phone from Jack's hand to give Jay a piece of my mind. I couldn't believe he had actually called her. What was he saying?

I paced back and forth beside Jack's bed, wanting to be right there when the conversation ended. Finally, Jack slowly pulled the phone away from her ear and flipped it shut, looking stunned. Immediately, my brothers and I were on her.

"What did that asshole have to say?" I demanded.

"Oh god, are you okay Jack?" Wes asked.

"You don't have to talk until you're ready" Cassidy soothed.

All of this was said at the same time.

For a minute, Jack just stared forward blankly, swallowing hard. Then, she broke down crying. I just stared at her, bewildered. I had no idea what to do with a crying girl. I had the weird urge to hug her. Well, maybe it wasn't that strange, but for me it was; I didn't hug anyone. Ever.

"Come on you two idiots, give her some room" Cassidy said.

Wes and I both took a quick step back as Cassidy took a seat beside Jack and began soothing and calming her. I thought it was a little weird that he was basically petting her, but she did eventually calm down. I hated seeing her this way.

"Do you think you could tell us what happened?" Cassidy asked quietly.

Jack nodded and took a shaking breath in, "Well..."

I looked around the room at the large group of guys surrounding me. There had to have been at least 8 or 9. As soon as I'd gotten off the phone, I was nearly jumped by Cassidy, Wes and Alex. Cassidy had made the other two back off while he himself stepped away though and- as soon as he'd calmed me down- asked me to explain what had happened. Once I did, the boys told Zeke who apparently thought the whole gang needed to hear it straight from the source. Me. I'd always thought gangs would be bigger, but I guess when you live in a small town with two resident gangs, this was big.

"Alright Silverano" Zeke interrupted my thoughts, "talk."

I sighed, noticing the looks of distrust in the eyes of everyone but Cassidy, Wes and Alex, "Jay, Thane and Kade from the Querto's who attacked me have taken over their gang and have my dad hostage. They seem to think that I have some sort of key and so their after me now. Also, they have declared an official gang war because the treaty was broken."

"Wait, why don't we just trade them you in exchange for a reinstating of the treaty?" Zeke questioned monotonously.

My heart stopped for a second. Oh god, could they do that?

"Jay said that if he gets the key, he'll have access to some very big secrets. Some of those may be about us and I don't know about you, but I don't exactly want him selling my secrets away. I suggest we protect Jack" Alex replied coolly.

Thank you Alex, I thought silently.

"Yeah, but how do we know that she isn't just lying so she can get an in with us? What if she's just a spy for her daddy?" one guy asked.

The guy beside him- whom I assumed was his twin as they looked the same- nodded in agreement, "I don't trust her."

"But I do" Cassidy cut in.

"So do I" Wes added.

Alex gave a small half smile, "me too, and that's going to have to be good enough for you."
