I was really starting to worry; I couldn't find Jack anywhere. I wanted to know what Mr. Multon had wanted from her. It worried me that he had asked to talk to her alone. The thing is, Mr. Multon and I have never exactly seen eye to eye. This might not turn out well...

"Jack! Hey, the guys and I have been looking for you!" Alex said, jogging up to me.

I just squinted at him, not wasting time on pleasantries, "Alex, where does all of your money come from?"

Alex stopped short and furrowed his eyebrows, "what?"

"As much as I hate Mr. Multon now, he did raise a good point. How is it that you and your brothers and cousins are so well off when none of you have jobs?" I questioned.

Alex sighed heavily, "you're not going to like the answer. We're a gang still Jack, you have to remember that."

"Just tell me Alex" I snapped.

"Drug trafficking" he whispered, "we deal drugs and that' s how we make money. It's one of the reasons why the Quertos and Los Demonios fight over territory; it's prime sale territory."

"Seriously?" I questioned.

Alex shrugged, "there's a whole underground drug trade community that most people don't even know exists. It's been operating right under the noses of the cops for years. We also sell stolen goods like small computer parts and car parts. The two biggest competitors are the Quertos and Los Demonios."

I fronwed, "couldn't you guys find another way to make money?"

"How?" Alex questioned, "most of us are only in high school Jack. Zeke doesn't have a university degree because he's too busy running a gang and Darren is only halfway through med-school. Wes has a record so the chances of him getting a job are slim-"

"Wes has a record?" I exclaimed, "wow, Mr. Multon was right. I honestly know nothing about you guys."

Alex shrugged and shoved his hands in his pockets. For a moment, he just stared at the ground and I didn't think he was going to reply.

"Hey" he looked up suddenly, an excited expression on his face, "let me take you out for lunch. You can ask me anything you want to know about my family and me. My treat."

I considered for a moment, "alright, let's go. We have to be quick though because there's only twenty minutes left in the lunch period."

Alex rolled his eyes at me, "oh come on, it's only the second day; you're not going to miss much."

I bit my lip, " how are the rest of the guys going to get home if we take the van?"

Alex pulled the keys from his pocket and swung them around his finger, grinning, "that's their problem. Now let's go."

Okay, so it's really short and crappy, but I don't think anyone reads this anyways cause no one has commented so it doesn't really matter :P
