I glanced sideways at the fluffy animal sitting beside me and shook my head. What the hell was wrong with me? It scared me to think that I was basically willing to do anything as long as it made Jack happy. I mean honestly, that had been an incredibly embarrassing experience. Other than Jack and I, there were no other people over the age of five other than annoyed looking parents. The way Jack had smiled at me though... well, it kind of made me not care how embarrassed and humiliated I was. I've said it a million times before, but I'll say it again: what is this girl doing to me?

I hugged my new bunny, Cornelius McFairleen, to myself as Alex pulled into the driveway. It had been hilarious watching him awkwardly pick out a pink fluffy unicorn and then proceed to stuff it.

Once we were parked, we both got out of the van with our animals.

"By the way, what's your unicorns name?" I asked him.

Alex chuckled and shook his head, "wow, there's something I never thought I'd be asked... It's name is... Jackie! Yeah, it's name is Jackie."

I smiled up at him and he grinned in return.

"Season!"

Alex and I exchanged a confused glance before turning to see a frightened looking Brock running towards us.

"Alex, please, you need to help me" he panted, stopping in front of us.

Alex frowned, "why should I help you?"

"Please, just let me explain. A couple of days ago, before school started, this guy who said his name was Jay came up to me and proposed something. He told me that he knew I was going to West Height Secondary and he said he wanted to recruit me. At first, I thought it was cool and I was excited that I was doing something to 'help take down the Season boys' - Jay's words, not mine- because I've honestly never liked you guys, but then I started to realize just how serious he was... That guy is completely hell-bent on killing you. I may not like you but I don't want you dead. I'm afraid. I don't want to be part of this anymore, but I'm afriad of what Jay will do to me. So, I want to make a deal. I know that you guys are all part of a gang. I want your protection from Jay and in return I'll give you information about Jay and the Querto's. I'll tell you what they're up to."

Alex furrowed his eyebrows, studying Brock. I, on the other hand, was letting my eyes wander. There was a blue vsn coming down the street towards us that had caught my attention. It wasn't necessarily that there was anything special about the vans appearance, it was the fact that it seemed to be slowly picking up speed as it came down the street that caught my attention. Now that it had my attention though, I took the time to take in the vans appearance. The van was big and dark blue. It's windows were tinted, but I could see the outline of a large man sitting behind the steering wheel. I frowned, the van was seriously starting to gain speed....

Suddenely, the side door of the van was flung open. I took a small step back in shock. After a moment, a very familiar head covered in dark hair hung out of the door. My stomach dropped to my feet and I felt my breath catch. Jay pulled out a gun and took aim, locking eyes with me and giving me a sickening smile as the van grew close.

"No!" I screamed.

I had no time to react though before three loud shots rang out, Brocks body jerking with the impact of each one. I looked to Jay in horror and he gave me a satisfied smirk before blowing me a kiss and the slamming the van door shut. I turned head away in discust and instead found myself staring at Brocks body which lay motionless on the ground. Three bright red spots slowly began flowering across his back. My mouth went dry. Was he dead? This couldn't be real.
