Dean woke up with the sun. His brother was dead asleep, his arm thrown across him. He carefully got up without waking him and got ready to leave.
By the time Dean had showered, brushed his teeth, and gotten dressed, Sam and had woken up.
He was sitting on his bed, waiting for him to get out.
"Does this mean you have to leave?" Sam watched him pack some of his clothes he had taken from his dorm.
Dean stopped and looked at the face of his little brother. He looked close to tears. He nodded. "It does. I have to."
Sam nodded "I know you do..."
"You'll be okay though, right? You'll call me if you need anything?" Dean kept packing and zipped up his bag.
"Yeah. I'll call."
"Every morning and night okay? So I know what's going on. And I'll come here on the weekends to see you."
"Dean, you don't have to. I'm sure you'd rather be with friends."
"I'd rather stop worrying about you, alright Sammy?"
Sam nodded again.
"I have to get going soon, but I still have about an hour here, okay?"
Sam stood up and hugged him.
Dean hugged his little brother back. He really was scared to leave him, but he had to. "What do you want to do until then?" He let go of his brother.
Sam sat back down on the edge of the bed. "I don't know."
"Figure it out soon, Sam. I don't have a lot of time."
"I will. I'm going to go change now." Sam got up and left.
Dean fixed the sheets on his bed. His brother seemed just slightly better, but would that change when he left?
He didn't know but Sam wouldn't just neglect himself like that. It would hurt Dean too much.
Sam came back a few minutes later. "I just want to talk."
"Okay." Dean picked up his bag and they both walked downstairs. He set his bag by the front door and sat down at the table with his brother. "What do you want to talk about?"
"I want to hear about this boy again." Sam looked serious.
Dean laughed. "You mean Castiel? I've already told you about him a ton of times."
Sam smiled "No. I believe there was something else that happened between the two of you, considering how much you keep avoiding pretty much anything with Castiel."
"No and it's going to stay that way."
"Come on Dee! I want to know! Please!"
"Okay fine. If you really need to know, we kissed." Dean still couldn't believe it himself.
Sam's eyes got wide. "When was that!"
"Well... It was at the party..." Dean looked down at the wooden table beneath his arms.
Sam laughed, and Dean got a little offended. "What's so funny?"
"You knew this guy for what? Maybe a few hours and-"
"I. Was. Drunk," Dean shot back. "Besides, Castiel seems to remember and he still talks to me."
Sam shook his head. "Okay. How did it happen?"
"How did what happen?"
"The kiss, Dean."
"Oh, well... I don't remember much. But somehow we had gotten out of the party to go somewhere and we were in a dark hallway and we were talking," Dean became more embarrassed. "And I kissed him."
Sam smiled a little sadly. "Just like that."
Dean shook his head. "This is the reason I didn't want to tell you. You would start to think about Gabriel and get all sad-"
Sam stood up quickly, bumping the table which hit the ground again with a loud clattering sound. "I'm not mad!" He shouted.
Dean sat back a little, surprised.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "I'm not mad, Dean. I'm still just a little upset about it."
Dean nodded. "And that's okay."
Sam looked at his brother and then the time. "You have to go, don't you?"
Dean looked at the clock, too, and nodded. "I do."
Sam walked him to the door and Dean picked up his bag and threw it over his shoulder.
His brother grabbed him tightly into a hug and Dean wrapped his arms around him. "I don't want you to go."
"And I don't want to. But I'll be back on Saturday, okay? And you can call me whenever you want, you just have to call me in the morning and in the evening."
"Can I call you later today?"
"Yes you can. I'll be there to answer."
Sam nodded and let go of his brother. Dean could see his face shinning with tears. "Call me later, okay?"
"Okay, Dee."
Dean went out to the car and started the engine. He waved to his brother, and he waved back.
Two hours and he'll be back with Garth.
