Dean always found himself to be thinking about Castiel. It didn't matter what was going on around him, he was just always there.
People were becoming slightly suspicious about the two of them, seeing as they would ask the two of them very ominous questions.
"Have you thought about dating someone yet?" And "rumor says there's a few people who admire you...."
But Dean would generally ignore it all and wonder when their busy schedules could correspond so they could see each other.
One more day of test taking and everyone would be free for the Holidays.
Sam had also been calling every night like he was told. He was still a little down about what happened with Gabriel, but he was getting better.
He was almost finished with his last test for the day when Castiel came in.
Dean had learned he helped in the office and would sometimes bring in papers or excuse slips for people to leave classes.
Seeing Cas made him feel better, even if it were only for a few minutes.
Castiel set the stack of papers on the professor's desk, and nodded his head as the professor murmured his thank you.
He turned around and saw Dean, at which Dean winked back and he watched as Cas' face turned a bright red and he hurried out of the room.
Dean chuckled to himself. It was nice to know how easily he could set Cas off.
A little while later he finished his test and was allowed to leave the class, which meant he had a much longer afternoon than he expected.
He figured Castiel was already done, and was about to text him when his phone started vibrating a lot.
Sam.
It wasn't time for him to call.
Dean ran the short distance to his dorm, Garth obviously still in a test, and answered the phone.
"Dean!" Sam sounded really happy.
This isn't what he expected. "Yes, Sam?"
He could hear him and someone else laughing in the back. "Sam, I don't-"
"Me and Gabriel are back!" Sam exclaimed.
"Gabriel!?" Dean was instantly mad. "I thought you guys broke up."
"We did, but he said he missed me too much and that he was stupid and really sorry he treated me the way he did."
Dean didn't know what to say.
"Well, you're probably busy so I'm going to go. Bye, Dee!"
"Bye Dee!" Came Gabriel's voice, and then the line went dead.
That wasn't what he expected.
He dropped the phone like it had burned to his touch and stared at it laying face up on the bed. He was going to be spending part of his break with Gabriel.
The phone started ringing again with Sam's number so he picked it up.
"Hey, sorry. Gabriel hung up when I wasn't ready. I was going to ask if you wanted to bring this 'Castiel' with you. You know, since Gabriel would also be here."
Dean thought for a second. At least he would have Castiel. "Yeah. That sounds good. Bye, Sammy."
"Bye!" And the line went dead again.
He stared at the phone until he remembered what he was doing. Texting Castiel.
He found the unfinished message and read it over. After he approved it, he watched it as it said it was sent.
