Richard woke up late on a Sunday. He usually does his morning jog but since he was not able to sleep until the wee hours of the morning, he stayed in bed until late afternoon. Upon remembering the night he had, a smile formed on his face. His eyes were twinkling and mirth. He can still picture Maine's face when they dance and when he asked for another date. This put him into action.

The doorbell rang, and Maine went to answer the door. She is expecting Patricia to come as they agreed to spend the afternoon so she can tell her what happened to the night before. Upon opening it, she saw Patricia with 3 heart shaped balloons.

Maine looked puzzled, "Balloons? What's the occasion?" she asked.

"I think it's for you." She pointed out on the card and read out loud, "Have a wonderful Sunday! -- Richard".

Maine immediately felt her cheeks turned crimson red and she can't help but smile and feel giddy. Patricia on the other hand immediately took out her phone and took some pictures of Maine to capture her reaction. When Maine realized what her best friend did, she immediately tried to snatch the phone to delete it. But Patricia is quick enough to keep her phone out of Maine's reach. They ran around her living room for about a few minutes but after a while they were already exhausted and they collapsed on the sofa. They remain quiet for a few minutes and Maine's face have this smile that can't be removed. When Patricia saw this, he took it as an opportunity to tease her even more.

"Looks like someone's in love." Patricia teased.

Maine just continued to smile and said "No, I'm not!" while she shakes her head.

"Really?!? So that dreamy face of yours is what?" her friend quipped.

Maine cannot answer on this question. So Patricia continued. "So spill. What happened last night? How was it?"

"It was magical. It was perfect. It feels like it's all a dream." She answered.

"Well, you owe me a story." Patricia said pointedly.

Maine knew that her friend will not stop until she tells her what happened. However, she's also hungry and she already heard her stomach growl. She stood from the couch and headed to the kitchen. She then hollered to her friend "Let's have early dinner and I'll tell you about it." To this, Patricia agreed.

After an hour of cooking, they started to dig in to their food. Patricia then said "Now, spill it." Maine smiled and begun telling her best friend what happened the night before. After, Maine told her everything, she smiled wider and waited for her friend's reaction.

"OMG! That's so sweet!" she shrieked and laughing while she hugged her friend. "I'm so happy for you."

Maine was also happy and there is a different twinkle in her eyes. "Me too!" she admitted.

After they have cleared the dishes they used, the two girls agreed to have a TV series marathon to catch up with Grey's Anatomy. They have watched at least 5 episodes when they realized it's already 10 PM. With this, Patricia stood up and bid her friend good night. She headed for the door and left.

Once, Patricia left, Maine straightened out her living room and turned off the TV. Afterwards, she also headed to her room and was ready to call it a day. She changed into her pajama and crawled to her bed. She then reached out for her phone and saw that she have 3 messages and 5 missed call. The two messages and 5 missed call all came from Richard.

The 3 messages were:

"Hi gorgeous! Happy Sunday!"

"Thinking of you! "

"Good Evening! Sorry to make a lot of calls. Just wishing to hear your voice."

Upon reading these messages, Maine couldn't help but feel giddy again. She feels like she's falling to fast, but she doesn't have a clue as to what to do. She then replied.

To: Richard

From: Maine

Hi! Thank you for the balloons. It was a surprise, a lovely surprise. 

Instantly, her phone beeped and a new message was received.

To: Maine

From: Richard

You're welcome. I was thinking of sending you flowers, but I thought, those balloons will be better and more unconventional.

She then responded.

To: Richard

From: Maine

It is actually. I like balloons a lot. So thank you again. How was your day?

Another beeped and the response was:

To: Maine

From: Richard

It was fine. It was not interesting and exciting as last night.

Then, instantaneously, another messaged was received.

I know I have already asked you about it, but I will asked again. Can I asked you for another date this weekend?

It took a few minutes before a response was received.

To: Richard

From: Maine

Okay. I think that's just fine.

When Richard read the response, he started jumping around his room and was feeling elated because of the response. He furiously typed as a response,

To: Maine

From: Richard

Whew! Thank you! I'll see you this Saturday. Pick you up at around 12nn. It's a date. ;-)

Maine laughed upon reading the message, and then she replied.

To: Richard

From: Maine

Okay. See you then. Good night. ;-)

Richard then read it and answered. "Thank you. Good night. I'll see in my dreams. Nighty-night!"

Maine was so happy with how things are going with Richard. She feels like a teenager because of their text exchange and her smile became wider and wider.

She then read the remaining message which comes from his father.

To: Maine

From: Dad

Hi Darling. Hope you're doing well. Let's have dinner together on Wednesday 3 weeks from now. The three of us.

Maine was puzzled with that message. Her father rarely send her message and invite her for dinner. It's usually breakfast or lunch as his dinner are reserved for business meetings. She then replied to him "OK. I'll see you on Friday." She then placed her phone in her side table and sleep. She was immediately led to her dream of her and Richard.

"Theo, are you sure about this?" Mary Anne asked his husband.

"Yes, she's in the right age. Besides this pact was already been agreed long ago when we went to Paris." Teodoro said.

"But this is our daughter we are talking about. Her future, her life." Mary Anne exclaimed.

"Exactly. She's my only daughter. I want what's best for her. This is the only way I can secure her future."

"We should still get her take on this one. She has her own mind and life. It's wrong to interfere with her life and what will make her happy."

"I know this is unconventional on this modern day. But I believe this is still the best thing we can do for her."

"I don't know. I feel like we are being too much with this."

"She may not see the purpose of this in the beginning, but in the end I know she will understand."

Mary Anne rested her case and just shrugged.
