Mats arms were clung around my small figure as we watched the amber sun climb down the sky. It was a very peaceful evening with the occasional laugh from one of the other couples sharing this evening.
"I've really missed doing this." Mat says in my ear.
"So have I." I say.
We sit in silence for a few minutes before Mat stands up and pulls me up so we are standing about 10 inches from each other.
"I have something for you." Mat says converting his eyes to the floor.
"Aw What?" I say. He pulls out a gold smooth envelope from his pocket. He hands it to me. I slowly open it with his eyes tracing my fingers. I open up the envelope and pull out two rectangular pieces of paper. I flip them over and my eyes follow the writing on them. They are two plane tickets to New York. I'm speechless. I've always wanted to go to New York. Ever since I was little and saw photos of the place it's been a dream of mine to go.
"H-how did you know?" I stutter looking up at Mat who has a grin spread across his face.
"I didn't I guessed." He says. I fling my arms around him and jump into his arms. His lips find mine and hold me there for a few endless seconds. How can Mat be real. He's a dream and dreams don't last forever. So the only thought in my mind is when will he end. When will he leave me? As we move away he looks right into my eyes.
"So when we going?" I ask. He smiles
"Next week." He says.
"I'm so excited. Just you and me for a whole two weeks."
"TWO WEEKS!" I say maybe a little to loudly.
"Yeah I can change it if you want."
"No it's amazing! Two weeks just you and me." I nuzzle my head in the crock of his neck. He's warm and sweet and as I do he pulls his arms tighter around me.We are leaving for New York tomorrow morning. Honestly I can't wait at all. Just me and Mat doing whatever we want and just......together. We haven't lost eye contact throughout the rehearsal. Even though it had been warm it was nearly Christmas and we were only just going to get back for Christmas. So I would be spending my birthday out there. Which as you can guess I was looking forward to despite the age I was becoming. Patrick and Reece had become great friends over the last few weeks so Reece was going to stay with my dad and Pat when we were away. So at least the little ones were going to be safe. Two weeks. Just me and Mat. Heaven.
After the rehearsal me and Mat head up onto the roof. We sit on the sofa for what must have been hours just in each other's company. Mats phone starts buzzing and he looks at me with an apology and takes the call. A few minutes later he returns looking very pale and scared for his life. I stand up and walk over to him.
"Mat, what's happened. Please tell me." I say holding his hands.
"It's Reece." Mat says shaking.
"Mat what's happened to Reece?" I say getting scared myself.
"He's run away." At that exact moment Mat breaks down into tears.
"Shhh!" I say I bring him back to the sofa and cuddle him for a while.
"We are going to find him don't worry." I say.
"He's out there Al, God knows where." He says through his tears. I wipe away a stray tear and kiss his cheek. He smiles again.
"Mat I promise you we will find him. I will ring up Lily, Nat, Jason and Jean-Pierre to help and I'm sure the whole orchestra will help so will my dad and brother. We will find him." I say kissing him again. He pulls me into a hug.
"I hope so Al." He says
