Training [Part 5]

Max's POV

Ross was really get the hang of his powers. If I said that I would be such a liar. Ross wouldn't branch out to anything other than stupid ice. "Ross you wanna try something other than ice today I'm starting to think you don't want to do this anymore" I said frustrated. We were in a secluded clearing in the woods. Ross kept creating Ice barriers whenever I threw a rock at him. I decided I had enough of his ice and I would try something more magical this time. 

"Max but I'm really good with Ice see I made a small house out of ice" Ross said. he gestured to a small little play house completely made out of ice. As strange as it is gotta hand it to him he really knows how to use ice. "Ross that's great but come one you have to learn something other than ice have you even been reading the journal I gave you" I asked. Ross turned around looked at me like I shot him and turned right back around. 

"Well I uh you see I haven't read the journal cause I've been practicing with ice" Ross said timidly. I sighed and stood up from the small grass area. I walked toward Ross' ice house and summoned a fireball. I melted his house in a minute and Ross stared at the empty puddle of water that was left. "Max why did you melt my house" Ross said starting to cry. I wanted to comfort him and maybe give him a kiss but I haven't had the time to worry about love and stuff like that. I really loved Ross but I had no idea how to feel about him. 

But that wasn't my concern right now Ross needed to learn to use his gift and learn something other than Ice. "Sorry Ross but I told you you need to try something other than Ice otherwise this could happen someone could break the ice and get straight to you" I said. I didn't try to sound mean but Ross looked at me with tear stricken eyes and ran to the apartment. I held my hand out as if to stop him but I just let it drop. "Dammit Max you can't even be a good teacher can you" I sighed. 

I sat down on the grass and stared at the puddle that used to Ross' ice house. A rose popped out of the ground. I looked around to see who did that but no one was there except me. I picked the rose out of the ground. "Beautiful almost like a real one except the petals are gray, with two red spots with black and white inside of them wait..." I mumbled to myself. Looking closer at the rose the rose seemed to have the image of Ross' minecraft character's face on it. Well Ross unknowingly practiced flower magic funny even though he knows how to use ice he used flowers without even knowing it. 

I took the rose in my hand and walked to the apartment smiling. 

Ross' POV

I opened the door to the apartment and ran to my room. I fell on my bed my head on my pillow soaking it with tears. Dammit Ross you can't don anything except ice can't you. Max was so mad at you for being useless I can't do anything right. I cried until I heard the front door open. I quickly got out of my bed and peeked through my door to see who walked in. Max was there with a flower in his hand. 

Not wanting him to see me I shut my door and quickly locked it. A few seconds later I heard a knock on my door. "Ross come one I know you're in there I wanted to apologize for what I did" Max said. I stared at the door contemplating whether to open it or not. I didn't want to see Max so I laid back in my bed tears starting to comeback. "Max go away please" I said crying now. "Ross let me in I want to show you something" Max said. Why can't he just leave me alone I don't wan to see him. "Max I said GO AWAY" I yelled. 

I heard Max suck in his breath quickly and then heard silence. "Ross if you don't open this door I'm gonna-" Max said but I interrupted him. "WHAT MAX YOU'RE GONNA BURN DOWN MY DOOR I TOLD YOU TO GO AWAY" I screamed at him. Just then the air in front of the door shimmered a bit and the air seemed to bit inwardly until Max came out of nowhere inside of my room. I stared at Max who still had a flower in his hand looking sadly me. "Max how did you do that did you just teleport" I asked him. 

Max nodded not saying anything then he fell to the floor as if his legs wouldn't work. I rushed to his side completely leaving my anger behind. "Oh my god Max are you okay" I asked him. He slowly lifted himself up from the floor. "I never try to teleport cause it makes me really weak. I've been practicing to get better though but it doesn't seem to be paying off. I need to find a teleport node to get power from" Max said. 

"What's a node" I asked Max. He looked at me and smiled while shaking his head. "If you read that journal I gave you it would've told you a node is something to help people like us learn a certain power better" Max said. I laughed nervously and walked to my desk where I opened a drawer and pulled out Max's journal. I opened it and found something unexpected. "Max you made a table of contents" I said with a laugh. Max sat on my bed and shrugged. "I knew it would come in handy for idiots like you" He said with a smile. 

I found the page on those nodes he was talking about and read it. "Max" I said. He looked up at me. "What is it Ross" He said. I closed the journal and walked to my closet getting a small satchel and putting the journal in it. I slung the satchel on my shoulder and looked confidently at Max. "Let's go find a node okay" I said. Max curiously looked at me but it went away as he smiled. 

"Whatever you say Ross"
