Tendrils of light [Mithross] Book 1

Okay then...[Part 7]

Ross' POV

We ran back to the house but Max kept staring at the node I made appear. "Max if you want to drain the node for the light it would probably take you a minute if I drained the earth part of it too" I said. Max stopped running at looked at me. "Ross do you understand how dangerous it is for two people to drain one node at the same time" Max said. I held my head down and nodded. 

"Max but this could be different because it's combined and we're draining two different parts of it. Besides this could be good research for your journal" I said. Max looked at me skeptically but finally sighed. "Fine we'll do it but if we get killed I'm gonna be really pissed" Max said. I laughed at him and we walked back to the node. Both of us stood on either side of it and we held out our hands. I concentrated on taking the earth out of it and tendrils of green mist came out of the node making it's way toward me. 

In my head I could see the earth spinning in space, trees, grassy plains, and meadows. all these images went through my head starting to make me dizzy. I collapsed on the ground breathing heavily and I saw Max sitting on the ground to with his hands on his eyes. "Max are you okay" I asked. Max looked up and his eyes were pure white. I gasped and ran toward him. "Max oh my god oh my god I'm so sorry for doing this to you" I said. 

I looked at the node in the air it was now about the size of a tennis ball and slowly becoming smaller. It was trying to recharge the energy needed to become a fully powered node again. I went back to Max who's eyes were still white. "Ross where are you" Max said. I grabbed Max's hand "Max I'm right here what do you see" I asked him. "I see light Ross all I see is light" Max said. I expected him to sound scared but instead he sounded excited that he probably lost his sight. 

"Max shut up you need your sight back" I said. Max's smile that was there immediately turned into a frown. :You're right it would be weird to see me walk in the offices with no eyesight" Max said laughing. I punched his shoulder and thought about any solutions as to how I could get his sight back. "Max do you know any ways I could get your sight back" I asked him. Max sat on the grass and put his head in his hand. He looked up from his hand and started to laugh. 

"Ross you're an idiot you know that" he said. I stared at him laughing at me and he held out his hand trying to find mine. I put my hand in his and he squeezed it. "Ross you took the earth part right. Earth has to do with life and life heals. You can heal me with the earth magic you got" Max said. I thought about it really hard and realized I could do this. I put my hands on his eyes and thought about seeing and eyesight.

A green glow emitted form my hands and and I started to heal Max. The glow faded in a couple of minutes and Max opened his eyes. His eyes were back to normal except a small sliver of green in his normally brown Irises. We stood up and Max gave me a hug. "Ross thank you I knew you could do it, but know that I think about it we need to get to work" Max said. I stared at him wide eyed and we ran to the apartment. 

When we got there we changed as fast as possible and I put the journal back in my desk. When I got out from my room Max was sitting on the couch ready to go. "Max how are we gonna get to work Tim took the car" I asked. Max stood up and smiled at me. He held out is hand for me to hold. "Ross I drained the node for light magic for a reason I'm gonna teleport us there" He said. I slapped his hand out of the way. "Max you just got that and you haven't practiced with it yet you could teleport us onto the roof for all you know" I said. 

Max looked at me a little hurt and sat back down. As quickly as he sat down he stood back up. "Ross I need you to shut up and grab my hand" Max said. I backed away from Max not wanting to go along with his stupid plan. He shoved me against the wall and held my shoulders. "Ross I need you to imagine your office very clearly got it. If you don't I'll still teleport us so think about it unless you want to end up in limbo got it" Max said.

As much as I hated it I thought about my office and nodded my head. Max smiled and I felt my body slowly disappearing. I shut my eyes and when I opened them I was on the floor of my office with Max right next to me. before we could stand up the door to my office opened and Adam was standing there. He looked at us in surprise "When did you two get here" He said appalled that we were here so quick. 

"Uh we got here a few minutes ago Adam what are you talking about" I said. Adam shook his head "whatever you say Ross but-" Adam was cut short when Max stood up. Max brushed past Adam and walked out of the office. Adam turned to looked at Max and when Max turned back at me his right eye was completely green. I gasped but Adam didn't seem to notice. Max walked away and Adam turned to look at me. 

"Well that saves me the trouble of having to ask him to leave" Adam said. Adam shut the door behind him and locked it. "Ross me and you need to have a little talk a heart to heart" Adam said angrily. 

Dammit what's gonna happen now

Sorry for the late chapter guys I was busy with some stuff. Anyways hope you like the chapter I know I said this chapter was gonna have Mithross but I got completely sidetracked and skipped it. I will have a chapter completely devoted to mithross soon though I promise. Sorry again and remember guys
