"Agh! Later Gou I'm gonna be late for my date! Thanks for letting me spend the night again!" I shouted grabbing my bag and tripping over the rug.

"You sure are late for everything" she sweat dropped.

I scoffed and slammed the door behind me running back towards my house to drop off my  stuff running towards the movie theater. I saw Makoto standing there wearing a t-shirt and pants. He leaned against the booth and looked me up and down blushing. He waved me over and smiled.

"Hi sorry I'm late" I said holding the back of my head.

"No worries. You ready to see this movie?" He asked grabbing my hand.

I blushed and closed my eyes and mouth tightly. We walked into the filled theater and saw everyone seated. The movie started and it was already scary. Their was a lot of jump scenes. I would yelp and cover my eyes. Makoto would giggle at me. A really scary part happened where the girl got cut up into to pieces, It made my stomach turn and I jumped into his lap snuggling my face into his shirt feeling the tears welt up inside my eyes. I looked up at Makoto as he blushed madly and I crawled out of his lap back into my own seat. I stared at the floor and sniffled a bit feeling embarrassment rise up in me. He wrapped his arm around pressing my head into his chest. I could feel his heart beat and it made me sigh in relief.

"It's okay I'll protect you" he hugged me tighter.

"Wow that movie really got you huh?" He nudged me.

I chuckled and sweat dropped embarrassed.

"Oh yeah"

"Don't worry I got you, nothing will hurt you when I'm around" he smiled down at me.

"Thanks for the movie and for walking me home, I'll see you around" I waved and smiled as he dropped me off by my house.

He smiled, kissed my cheek, and walked in the other direction. I walked slowly inside and screamed loudly at the thought of him kissing my cheek.

"Woah someone's excited" my mom chuckled cleaning the dishes as my dad was sitting on the chair reading his doctor book.

He pulled his glasses off and smiled at me.

"How was your date?" He asked clearing his throat.

"It was scary- I mean the movie was. Makoto was kind and strong and uh-" I stopped when they both stared at me with their mouths hanging a bit.

I slowly backed up towards my room shutting the door behind me and sighing audibly. I jumped on my bed and emailed Gou about what happened. She just freaked out and told me how awesome my life was just because some boy liked me. I rolled my eyes and set my phone next to me on the bed. I continued to study and decided to go for a late night swim. I grabbed my stuff and told my parents I was off.

When I got there, I saw Rin swimming around on his back just floating. I pulled my cover up off setting it down with my bag. I put my goggles on and quickly jumped into the water. I stayed in my lane trying not to bother Rin. I panted heavily feeling the water cover my face as I swam fast towards the end of the pool. I reached it, touched the cement, and quickly swam back. I came up for water and smiled cheekily because I knew I was getting better by the minute. 

"Wow, nice job" I heard Rin deep voice. 

I looked over to him as he floated in the water staring at me. 

"Thanks" I cleared my throat and climbed out.

"How was your date with Makoto?" he scoffed.

"What's it too ya?" I asked crossing my arms.

I crawled out of the pool, took off my goggles, and stared at him. 

"Not much just heard you bragging about it to my little sister" he raised his chin in the air.

"Yeah right" I said jumping back into the water and adjusting my googles. I held onto the edge of it and jumped towards the water swimming faster than before, I just had to get use to the water that's all. I heard cheering and stopped in the middle of the pool.

"Wow you're amazing Kaiyo!"I heard Nagisa yell jumping in the air.

Rin climbed out, dried off his hair, and scoffed walking outside of the pool. I rolled my eyes again and got out as well. Nagisa, Makoto, Haru, and Rei were all standing and watching me.

"Hey guys, thanks" I blushed holding my hands together.

"You're going against Haru huh? That's gonna be a close one!" Makoto nodded.

"Oh yeah, but I'm not holding back just because you're my friend Haru" I winked nudging him a bit. 

"Right back at you buddy" he chuckled and smiled.

*Rin's POV*

"Why does everyone like her? She's not even that special" I scoffed to myself.

"That's where you're wrong Matsuoka" I heard Seijuro butt in.

I gasped and turned around to see him gawking over her. 

"She's quite the swimmer and she's a real big people person. She also has a way with boys, just look at her and Makoto. He can't take her eyes off of her" he nodded to all of them.

I looked through the window and saw Makoto looking at her with a twinkle in his eye. 

"It's all just a load of crap, she's just trying to get inside their heads so she can win, that's all she cares about" I snapped back.

"That's all you care about Matsuoka" he chuckled slapping my back. 

He walked inside and greeted them all waving and smiling like he always does. I threw my bag over my shoulder and started heading home. I knew I wasn't wanted so I didn't bother to turn around to see everyone. I heard small foot patters behind me and saw Kaiyo trip over a rock falling on top of me. Our chests collide and I grunted in pain. Her cheeks turned bright pink and she quickly got up. Her face was fluster with red and blue.

"Oh my god Rin, I'm so sorry. I'm so clumsy! I'm so so sorry-" she said waving her hands.

"It's fine. What are you doing?" I asked. 

"Oh um-" she stopped panicking and rubbed the back of her head. "Just thought you would want to walk home together?"

I blushed this time, cleared my throat, and shrugged. 

"Sure why not" I said walking with her towards our house as the night fell dark.
