|Eighth Grade Year|
Summer
"You two have 20 minutes to get out of this house and get to school before you miss your first class." Our aunt, Tyra, yelled from downstairs.
"She said that 20 minutes ago." Sy'aire laughed as she walked into the bathroom with me. I stared at her trying to figure out who invited her in the bathroom.
She looked up at me, "What? It's something on my face?" She wiped all over her face while looking in the mirror.
"No, but who the fuck told you to come in here?" I frowned my face at her then rolled my eyes.
"Do you ever stop cursing? And don't act like you don't walk in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower."
"Don't worry about the words that come out of my mouth, OK?" Sy sighed after I said that and walked away from me. "Love you." I sung and laughed because her attitude wasn't nothing new to me. Sy will be back talking to me as soon as we get in the car.
"Summer and Sy'aire, if y'all aren't down here in the next two minutes we will have a problem this morning!" Aunt Ty yelled up the stairs.
"Shut up man." I mumbled to myself and pulled out my vibrating phone. I looked down and seen I was getting a incoming FaceTime call. I instantly smiled seeing it was my favorite man in my life. My father.
"Hello" I said into the phone.
"Good Mawnin' love." My father said back.
"Good Morning Daddy." I cheesed.
"How ya doin'?"
I sighed. I was tired and didn't feel like going to school at all but if I told him that he would get in my ass about how school is important and we needed to go especially since testing was coming up. See testing was a little different this year for eighth grade. The score would help us when we're decided on what high school we can enroll in.
"I'm okay. I would rather be in bed watching tv and eating, but at 6' o clock this morning Mommy was waking us up and saying 'get ready for school'" He chuckled like I had said something funny.
"Well Baybeh Guh you gotta go to school so you can get a good score on the test and so that 12 won't be knocking on da' door tryna send ya momma to jail for not sending ya ta school. Ight?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah." I said lowly.
"Smile for me." I gave him a closed mouth smile.
"Nah, Nah I gotta see them pearly whites, c'mon." He grinned. I mocked him causing us both to laugh.
"Is that Dad I hear." Sy asked excitedly running back in the bathroom, looking over my shoulder.
"Heeeeeeeeey Baaaaaaybeeeeh."
"Heeeeeeeeey Daaaadddyyyyy." I rolled my eyes at them.
"Y'all so extra." I said.
"Would ya like some salt with those fries, love?" Dad said through the phone.
"No I'm Fine." I rolled my eyes at his pettiness.
"It's 7:45, you two should be at school right now." Ty came to the bathroom door.
"TyyyyyyTyyyy!" Dad yelled through the phone.
"Yungin' wassup witchu baby bro!" She smiled.
"Nun buh Imma let y'all go so you can take thing 1 and thing 2 to school." Dad blew us some kisses before telling us he loved us and hung up.
"Let's go, grab y'all book bags, put your shoes on Summer and both of y'all make your way to the door." Ty tapped us on our heads and sent us on our merry way.

I laughed at my best friend and walked into my room putting my shoes, and my black PINK jacket on.
"Yo where's my bag at?" I walked out my room.
"It's in there car where you left it on Friday." Sy answered me.
"Oh yeah." I snapped my fingers.
"SUMMER!" Ty yelled.
"Shut up, damn here I come." I shouted back at her.
I walked down the stairs and out the door after grabbing my charger, headphones, and lip gloss. I pulled open the passenger seat seeing my book bag on the floor where I left it on Friday.
"Can we go to McDonald's for breakfast?" I asked.
"NO Summer." Ty frowned. "You two don't have enough time to be stopping at McDonald's."
"So is that a no?"
"Yes!" She looked over at me. "I'm not playing with you today." Ty sighed as she pulled into the drive thru.
"Can I get a breakfast sandwich."
"Me too." Sy asked.

As soon as I walked into school I headed straight to my locker. I didn't have anything to put in there being that it was almost 80 degrees outside I just didn't want to go straight to class.I smirked as I felt someone wrapped their arms around me. I turned around and gave him a full smile. "Hey." He said, smiling down at me.
"Hey." I blushed trying to hide my face in his chest. "You look cute today." He complimented me. All I had on was some simple black pants and my black jacket and some j's. "I guess." I mumbled. "I miss you all weekend long. You didn't try to call me, text me, nothing." I spoke.
"I was busy." I laughed. "K. Whatever I just-"
"Summer let's go." My teacher yelled down the hallway. "You need to be in class not out here entertaining little boys." She rolled her eyes and walked away.
"I'm walking home with you today and hopefully you like the gift I got you." He smiled and walked away from me.
"What gift? Can I have it now? Please?" I begged.
"See you later." He winked and disappeared into his class.
"Oh my goodness." I stomped my feet and walked into my homeroom.
"Glad to see you decided to join us today Miss Alsina." Ms.Monroe smirked.
Shut the fuck up.
