My heart was beating out of my chest if he leaned in one more time then we'd be... we'd be...um..well...
"Kayla, James! Where are you?" We both jerked away as soon as we heard Cira and Liam's muffled voices in the hallway.
James straightened himself out, took a deep breath and whispered so only I could hear, "Nothing ever happened, got it?"
"Most definitely." I forced a smiled and walked out
When I was out of sight from James I took a large breath hitting myself occasionally and walked out into the living room where Liam and Cira were waiting.
"We can't tell her yet." I heard Cira say in a hushed tone
I jerked myself behind the door to listen to what they both had to say.
"She deserves to know Cira!" Liam yell whispered
To know what I wondered? Is there something that they're hiding from me. They were about to continue talking until,
"What's up guys!" James yelled into my ear
I fell. That's what happened. The freaking idiot was gripping himself laughing while I sat there on the cold ground completely enraged. I picked myself up and shoved him which didn't do much anyway,
"You idiot!" I hit him
James just kept laughing while Cira and Liam looked at us with amused faces,
"What were you doing behind there?" Cira said her eyebrows wiggling suggestively
I glared at her, "No, no, it's nothing like that, I was well coming up and he came up behind well you see-."At this point I was rambling and James decided to cut me off.
"She was walking towards you guys I just came up from behind her." He said waving his hand to brush off the situation
"Oh, well anyway Cira said she needed to go back so Kayla do you need a ride?" Liam asked
"Yeah! That'd be-"
"No!" James said loudly
"No?" All three of us asked surprised turning towards him
"Yeah, um....Kayla needs to help me clean up the living room." He said nodding his head
"She does?" Cira questioned
"I do?" I asked looking at him like he was crazy. Honestly I do that way to much but it's not my fault the guy has a lot of weird and hormonal moments...
"Yup! You guys go ahead I'll take her home." James said enthusiastically
"Ok then." Liam looked at the both of before leaving.
I almost tried to follow Liam outside just so I could punch him for leaving me, but I thought better of it so I just stayed put. The tension could almost be cut by a knife.
James cleared his throat, "So, we need to talk about some things."
"Ok? What things? What are you talking about?" I questioned
Trying to not be so obvious about the fact that I knew what he was talking about.
"Kayla, really?"
I huffed out a long breath, " What do you want me to say, we were best friends, you left, then you helped Jacob humiliate me-"
"I'll explain that." He jumped in
I rolled my eyes continuing, "Then we almost kissed and now you don't want things to get awkward. The End."
"No it's not, I just want to explain to you why I did what I did." He motioned for me to sit down
"I don't feel like sitting." I crossed my arms. I'm not just going to do what he says.
"Honestly Kayla, Why do you have to be so difficult!" He ran his hand down his face
"I am not!" I scoffed hitting him in the process. Me? Difficult says the hair sticking grasshole who probably can't even spell difficult!
"Ok just sit down. Your ruining the moment where I tell you what's going on and then you come up and kiss me and we live happily ever after!" He teasingly scolded
"Haha really funny it's not like we're in some true love story where everyone lives happily ever after." I sighed if only life really was like that
Nonetheless, after great debating and arguing I sat down.
"Thank you." He smiled looking a little annoyed
"My absolute pleasure!" I grinned up at him. " Ok well spit it out." I urged
"Sit tight cause, we're gonna be here a while."
"Because, James" pointing out his mistake
"Because what? Kayla this is my time to shine. Shh it!"
I rolled my eyes. What have I gotten myself into.
