It had been a week since I arrived at the castle. I pretty much stayed in my suite. I haven't attended one meal. I don't really like anyone here.

I walked into the hall and there stood Luke, "Oh, hi," I mumbled as I walked away.

"Lily, I'm sorry about the kiss, it was very uncalled for- hey where are you going?"

I was already half-way down the hall, "Nowhere!"

He smirked, "Sure. Come on, tell me!"

"Geez, why are you such a wet blanket? I'm going to the garden."

"Hey! You can't go there alone!"

I sighed and turned around, "Fine, you can come with me."

"Listen, Lily, if you go to Ramona's class and then to dinner, I will take you to the garden tonight."

"Fine." I stomped back to my suite and took a shower. I got dressed in a pale blue maxi dress and white flats. I curled my hair and put mauve lipstick on.

I walked out the door. Luke turned to me and stuck his arm out, "Ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," I sighed.

We walked to the second floor to Ramona's recreation room. Luke knocked on the door and waved goodbye. I was about to object when the large door opened, "Oh Lily! I'm just so glad that you decided to come!" Ramona pulled me in.

The recreation room had pink walls with large windows and wooden floors. There were lace curtains. Two large white ottomans were in the middle on a white rug. Ramona sat on one, "Come sit! You have much to learn!"

I sat down. The lush foam formed around my small figure. "So what do I need to learn?"

"How to be royal! Let's start with walking and posture for today."

My eyes widened, "This is going to take more than one day?"

"Yes, like a year or so. There is just so much! I should stop rambling and we should get to work!"

She grabbed two inch heels, the heels being a pencil width. "Slip these on, Lily," next she grabbed five books and put them on an ottoman. "Okay honey, stand up!"

I fell.

I stood up again and started walking around. I fell, and I fell again. See why I wear flats?

It took me an hour to get the hang of it. Then Ramona began stacking books on my head and I fell again. I tried fixing my posture, but it hurt too much.

"We will work on this tomorrow," Ramona said, her voice not so perky anymore, her head in her hands.

"Okay," I put my flats back on.

"Dinner is in ten minutes, are you coming, dear?"

"Yeah, one minute!"

Ramona and I walked out of the recreation room. I looked at her bloodshot eyes with slight bags underneath. I never thought of how much pressure is on her. Be a good queen, a good wife, and a good stepmother. It must be hard on her.

We turned into the dining room and she sat next to Dad. I sat next to Dominic. "I'm glad to see you here, Lily," Dad said.

"Well, I'm glad to be here," I faked, you know I'd rather be in the garden."

"Lily, I'm sorry how I acted last week. It was uncalled for."

"It's fine, Dad."

The broccoli soup and turkey was served. I ate my food quickly so I could leave this place. I was the first to finish and tried to leave my seat. "Where do you think you're going?" Dad asked. "You haven't been excused yet."

"Sorry," I sat my butt down with sass.

"So, Lily, what are your hobbies?"

"It's so hard to choose, but I guess staying alive. You know because that's all I could do since you left me!"

"Lily-"

"Don't! You think after being gone for half my life, that you can just take me back! You can just bring me here and everything would be alright! You think I can forgive you? It's going to take more than that!" I excused myself.

Outside of the dining room was Luke. He was close to laughing. "What? It's not funny! I really hate my father! You have no clue what it was like, being in the sixth caste!"

"Sorry."

I sighed, "Can I just go back to my room?"

"I thought you wanted to go to the garden?"

I had forgotten about the garden. My mood immediately lightened. I became excited and bouncy. I grabbed Luke's hand, "Let's go!"

We both ran down the hall. I turned to look at him, there was actually a real genuine smile on his face. We skidded to a stop at two French doors. Luke unlocked and opened them. "After you."

I stepped onto the gravel path, Luke came next to me. I looked around at the  bushes of flowers and the trees. It smelled great here. The Sun was beginning to set. Luke grabbed my hand and walked me to a bench. It was under two willow trees.

"It's so pretty here!" I looked around with big eyes.

"Yeah. It's alright."

Luke turned to look at me. He grabbed my hand. I turned my head and our faces were inches apart from each other. I felt his breath on my cheeks. I looked into his brown eyes and I felt at home, the home I never had. We both leaned in and kissed. Our lips brushed softly. We opened our eyes to look at each other, then went back in for a more passionate kiss. My hands wrapped around his neck, his hands around my waist. It was the perfect moment, but the bliss didn't last for long.
