You are the heartbeat in my life
Not because you provide me with life
But because you run on involuntarily

You are the cheetah in my life
Graceful yet you can take off so fast

Your mind is a ruthless dictator
Making you act without thinking

You are a cave
Deep but dangerous

You are the sky above
Beautiful at the right time
But in an instant can cause a downpour of problems

You think life is a dry erase board
Not caring about anything because life to you can easily be erased and rewritten

You are a backpack
Helpful at times and willing to carry me until I get on my feet
Except I'm always the one always carrying you

You are lightning
Mesmerizing and bright
Until you get too close and shock my world

You are a pile of dough
Easy molded by the hands of the world into what they want

You are smoke in an enclosed space
Keeping me from going up

You are a turtle
Wanting to be free but ending up back at the same place you started

You are a black hole
Born from something once magnificent
Consuming my soul until there is nothing left to consume

You are a catchy song
Something repetitive I cannot relieve myself of

You are a mattress filled with nails
Somewhere I thought I could turn to for comfort...
Until I get a sharp, uncomfortable pain

You are a piercing
Which might look good with me
However you just pierced my heart

You are a locked door
Possibly shielding me from the stress of the world
But also shielding me from freedom

You are a window
Someone whose transparency makes them invisible

You are a cat
Narcissistic and deceptive
Too easily scared by what you confront

You are the wind
Not lifting me to new heights
But blowing me around until I am left defenseless

You are a fire
From a distance, beautiful and lovely
Up close and personal, a raging inferno

You are a single leaf
Hanging on for dear life without me
But I have already turned over a new leaf
