Each layer discovered
but mysteries
still lie beneath the surface
Much more to unearth
So much more to explain
Hiding in your own body
unwilling to give in to emotions
the shell still intact
around the person who just wants to run
run from who they are
Sometimes discovering the unknown is scary
plunging right into the dark water
where nothing is visible
and survival isn't guaranteed
And sometimes discovering yourself
is the scariest thing of all
