To be your own best friend
Is an attempt to descend
Away from the world outside
And into your own ride
Except your ride is more of a casual drive
Where you cannot wait to arrive
Although you hate to admit it
You trapped in a bottomless pit
Falling down until it is only dark
Reduced to a mere mark
In a world where people are given a false sense
of togetherness, being under the influence
There is no such thing as friendship
And each friend is just another hardship
