Like a boomerang
You've returned to me
Even though I've already thrown you away
You are a mosquito
Slowly and subtly sucking my life force
And pestering me until I lose my mind
You are just a tool
Letting the world use you
Even though you only seem to break and ruin whatever you touch
You are an open book
Too revealing
You are the color red
Not an aesthetic, tomato red
But a bloody, crimson red
And every time I see you, I get angry
You are a prison guard
Making sure I can't ever leave you again
You are a leech
Clinging on to me
Not letting go even when I try to pry you off
You are a superhero
Occasionally saving me
But also harming everyone else in the process
You are a elevator
Taking me up
Taking me down
You are space
Something beautiful at first glance
But nobody notices how incredibly frigid you are
You are a volcano
Fine at the moment
But even the smallest thing can set you off
An unexpected eruption of emotion
You are an old photograph
A beautiful memory
That I'd like to forget
You a knife
Something too dangerous to have around
You're not even the sharpest knife in the drawer
You are a scar
Permanent damage inflicted on me
A symbol of what should never again exist
You are a moon
Orbiting me for all eternity
Never leaving me no matter what I do
You are a bird
Taking off when I get too close
So go ahead, please fly away
You are a road
I am a road
You go one way
I go the other
