I could not really ask
For much more
For someone who greets me
The second I walk in the door
What else could I ask for
You listen to whatever I say
And when I am out of line
You show me the way
You're right about everything
Even when I know I'm not wrong
And I still resent your attention
Though it's what I wanted all along
I am the person I am now
Because of you
Yet I'm still the same kid
Eyes still blue
Leave me alone
Is what I may speak
But deep down
I am very weak
A mother is loving
And you are full of love
A mother is powerful
You lift me up above
Thank you for being there
No matter what
Thank you for being there
Whenever I need someone
Thank you for being there
To help me grow
When it comes to moms
You're number one
Just kidding
