The collision came so sudden - and let's not forget the alcohol in my blood - that I hit the ground. "Ouch!", I cried out.
"I'm so sorry!", I heard a voice and then a hand appeared in my view.
I laid mine in it and got pulled up from the ground. I looked up at Aaron and suddenly I felt the entire alcohol leave my body with a single sweat. "Are you okay?", he asked.
"Umm, yes... Yes, I'm fine.", I replied, trying not to blush.
He smiled. "And your head? Still everything okay?"
I nodded fiercely. A huge mistake, because it started pounding again. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Are you sure that everything is okay?"
I opened my eyes again and looked at him. "No, actually I feel a little dizzy.", I whispered.
"Come. I'll bring you to your room.", he said.
"No, no, I'll be fine-" But he had already laid my arm around his shoulder and one of his around my waist. I smiled slightly and he helped me up the stairs.
I suddenly missed a stair and tripped. Thankfully Aaron could catch me, before I hit the stairs with my head. Now our faces were so close to each other's, that I could feel his warm breath on my face. I gasped quietly as we stared into each other's eyes for a moment, then he pulled me up again.
"You're a little drunk, hm?", he asked smiling.
"Whaaat? Naah, no, no."
He chuckled quietly and held me close again. "Sure, if you say so. Still, you should get some sleep.", he said, helped me up the rest of the stairs and walked me to my room.
He knocked at the door and Nat opened it some moments later. "Hey Nat.", I said quietly.
"Hey. What happened?", Nat asked grinning. It was her tipsy grin as I liked to call it.
"I just helped her up the stairs, so she wouldn't trip.", Aaron replied smiling.
"Why didn't you just take the elevator?", Nat asked.
Aaron and I looked at each other, not really knowing what to say.
"Anyway, I'll take care of her now. Thank you very much.", Nat said and pulled me inside the room.
"No problem."
Nat wanted to close the door when Aaron stopped her. "Just... one more thing. Scarlett?" I turned to him look at him. "Yes?", I asked quietly.
"Would you like to have breakfast with me tomorrow? I mean, you and Nat with George and me.", he asked, and I could see, that he was blushing a bit. "I... I, umm..."
"I understand if you don't want to. I mean you don't know me-" If you'd know... "... and I totally get it."
I looked at him for a moment, then I smiled. "Sure. Breakfast, why not?", I said. "How about eight?"
At first, he seemed surprised about my reaction, but then he smiled. "Yes, eight. Perfect. I'll see you then. Good night, Scarlett."
"Please, call me Scar.", I said smiling.
"Alright, Scar."
"Good night, Aaron.", I said smiling and closed the door.
I took a deep breath, before I walked to my bed. I let myself fall on it and fell asleep right away, before Nat could ask me any questions about what happened.
