Aaron's POV:
After Scar had left, I stayed in bed for some more minutes letting my thoughts just wander, then I put on my boxers and got up. I started packing my stuff, I was finished pretty fast and after George had come out of the bathroom, I went in to take a shower.
I thought about what Scar had said and I hated to admit it, but she was right. We were living in different countries, on different continents even. How could we ever work this out? Not to mention the time difference, I would get up when she'd still be asleep. Five hours didn't seem like much, but with the busy daily schedules we both had we'd maybe manage to talk three times a week.
But I loved her. I loved her more than I ever loved anyone before, so we had to at least try it. I needed her – but I also needed her by my side, physically.
I got out of the shower and got dressed, left the bathroom, and packed the rest of my stuff into the suitcase.
"Aaron?" I looked up. "You okay?", George asked.
I sighed and shook my head. "Not really.", I replied quietly and sat down on the bed. George sat down next to me and sighed.
"Listen...", he started hesitatingly. "I know this whole long-distance thing ain't easy, but... you know, maybe it would be the best if you-"
"You don't have to finish that, I'm not gonna break up with her.", I interrupted him firmly.
"Thought you'd say that. But just think about it."
I looked at him reluctantly. "You think I didn't? I thought about the distance, the time difference."
"The temptation.", he added.
I looked at him. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Can't believe I have to say it out loud.", he mumbled after he had let out a sigh. He eventually looked back at me. "Please don't take this the wrong way, but there are a lot of pretty girls in New York and-"
"Oh, shut up, man!", I exclaimed and got up again. "You gotta be kidding me. You don't have the slightest idea how much I love Scarlett; I would never even think about doing that to her."
"I know that man but think about what happened after that summer romance thing."
"That's not gonna happen again."
George got up as well and walked over to me. "Fine, let's say it won't happen again and that you really love her-"
"Say I really love her?", I asked furiously,
"Shut up and let me finish. There are also pretty guys in London. Do you really think-"
"Whoa, hang on there for a second. Are you implying that Scar would cheat on me with some guy even if we would try to work this out?"
George shrugged. "Anything's possible. Remember, you've only known her for a couple of days."
"Yeah, but I really got to know her."
"It's also possible that you'll meet someone else.", he added, ignoring my previous comment.
I looked at him in disbelief for a moment, then I grabbed my suitcase and turned away. "You're nuts.", I mumbled and left the room.
I heard George sigh behind me, but I ignored it. Tears of anger but also desperation started to fill my eyes as I imagined Scar being with someone else. Someone else holding her, kissing her, touching her.
I clenched my fists and wiped the tears off my cheeks as I arrived in the lobby.
