Jacqueline's POV:

We were on our way to his parents house and it was a silent drive. Bobby never looked at me once nor talked to me ever since I closed the door on his face.
Maybe I exaggerated on my acting a little bit. I smile to that thought, it was funny though.

But it's killing me with his silent treatment. He didn't even compliment me. I do wear a very nice dress and for someone like him, he should be using his cliche lines. Not because I want him to, but because that's the real him. Cocky and cheesy and egocentric and arrogant.
But he choose to remain silent.
It's deafening.

My mind drifted me to my past life. I was never a socialised person when it comes to some formal events. I was a party girl and I'll remain to be like that as long as I'm alive. And there's this dinner which I doubt very much to be a grand one with an endless list of guest.

I remember my mommy who always gives me the fashion advice. She studied designing and used to have her own clothing firm. But it disappeared the moment they disappeared from my life, from this world. Tears were clumping up on my eyes and it almost ruined my make-up. I shouldn't be thinking about them tonight because this dinner is some kind of a business arrangement to me. I'll be making a living out of it by attending there.

While I was on my reverie, the car came to an abrupt halt. It felt like a déjà vu. The first time we went at my filthy apartment and this time at his.

There came a view, a gate to be exact and a large one. It automatically opens and we drove all the way till I saw a huge mansion. There're many classy cars parked on the driveway. And I wondered why so many for a dinner? The whole area is within a courtyard. I expected it to be a nice one but it exceeds my imagination. It's a beautiful place and a beautiful house.

I gasped aloud admiring the beauty of this place.

A man cleared his throat behind me and I almost fell down. If not for his strong grasped.
When I looked at the person he's none other than the jerk himself.

"So you finally plan to acknowledge me? How nice of you Bobby-cocky!"

"That's not a way to speak to your man infront of his parents. They probably aren't interested in knowing about our sex life, right mother?"

What?! That's so embarrassing. How come I just have to blab infront of them? And what's going on in that dickhead of his? I never was his and he wasn't mine and will never be! Okay, this must be the sweetest revenge he was planning all along. Or was he planning this from the beginning? That must be it and that's how I was invited to this dinner. He has to mess around using me. What a genius i am!  I couldn't have been more thoughtful and figure this out, ain't I?

"Aww... you finally came! We're waiting for you and you are 15 minutes late."
Said his supposed mother.

"Blame her. She is so much of a snail. She can't carry her butts around and that's what makes us late."

"Oh. Rude, Jamey, rude. Not to talk to a woman like that, ever. Have I not taught you anything? Excuse him. And who's this beautiful girl? I like her. Are you his girlfriend? Because I can't find him any matches to marry."

She sure knows how to embarrass someone. But she's such a lovely woman. And like Bobby has mentioned, I can't be counted tall in his world. They're sixes.

"I'm not his girl..."

"Mother, she's my girlfriend. Meet her, Jacqueline Miller. She works for me. And girlfriend, she's my one and only mother."

That asshole! What am I putting myself into? This couldn't get any better. Only if I could wipe off that smirk on his face.

She hugged me right away. I awkwardly tried to hug her back.
