"Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused."

Paulo Coelho: love

Jacqueline's POV:

Days passed after that night with Corrine. I've been feeling good for letting someone know some part of my story. But there's one more thing which I couldn't let anybody find out. Since Dennis is not here, the man which I dreaded hasn't been in contact with me so far and I'm thankful for that in a way. How will I possibly make myself out of this? I don't really know.

I'm on a lunch break and Corrine is flirting with a customer who's hawtt... Like Brad Pitt hot. And it's funny to see Bobby cringing watching them. Inside he must be burning with jealousy because deep down he likes her which sadly he couldn't realised. And my mind is on a particular man who hasn't been home for more than a week. Does it mean I missed him? I'm not sure. He's my boss for christ sake. A boss you kissed with.

I munched on the sandwich which Bobby made for me and it tastes good.
"Give one for me. I'm hungry." Corrine sat down beside me and ate her share.

"Don't have sex with my sandwich." Bobby came and blurted out right in front of Corrine. I choked on my food while Corrine burst out laughing at the intensity of the word.

"I can't help it. It tastes like heaven. Not like the owner who made it. No pun intended." Saying that she smiled sheepishly and walked away. Bobby on the other hand stood and stare at her with some flicker in his eyes.  If that's not love, I don't know what it is.

"She'll be the death of me" was all he muttered and went inside his office.

"Thank you for the sandwich Bobby!" I kind of shouted before he vanished from my sight.

Corrine rushed forward and almost bash her body on the table.
"What did he say?"

I can't believe my friend is so desperate, but by the record of her holding back for so many years, I'm not surprised by the outburst.

"Why don't you show this side of you to him? Things would have been different. Anyway, he said you'll be the death of him which means he's jealous of the guy you're shamelessly flirting with and he likes you a lot."

"It's alright. It's not like I could sleep while you're over at my place."

"What?! You must be kidding me."

"Absolutely not."

"Fine. Sorry. Let's make a truce. I'll make coffee while you watch some tables for me, eh?"

"Okay and I'm sorry."

And that's how we started and ended our infamous BFF bickering.
And it's kind of funny so I smile like an idiot.

                   ▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️

Jen, my coworker is a beautiful woman inside and out. She's the one taking care of the account most of the time. She's so cool to hang out with and she's got a unique fashion taste which is admirable. Today's the day Corrine planned to have her party. Birthday party. But I was the only one who wished her and that's a little weird.
She invited all of the staffs to this party of hers and so we, that is Jen and I are getting ready at her apartment. Corrine on the other hand is fretting over the phone for us to be on time. I didn't know she's such a punctual bitch because not long ago she was also here with us not bothering to get ready and lazing around. Eventually she left knowing she'll be late. Her word was, 'I just have to take a quick shower and put my dress on'.

Corrine did informed everybody who were invited about the party theme.
