"And I will follow where this takes me. And my tomorrow long to be unknown. When all is shaken, be my safety. In a world uncertain, say you'll be my stone."
-Alessia Cara; song: stone.

Jacqueline's POV:

I woke up because of the pleasant aroma wafting in inside the room. When my eyes sputtered open I realised I was the only one laying on the bed cozily. I reached out for my cellphone and checked the time. It's striking 8 so I scurried out from the bed and inside the bathroom. After looking at my face on the mirror I realize I'm looking extremely well and maybe happy?

I cleaned up rather quickly since I remembered I still need to do the dishes. And also my empty stomach started to grumble.

That's because you can't resist to taste the smell you'd catches some minutes ago.

My inner thoughts ranted. Well, that's true too.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Corrine was standing on the counter brewing coffee.

"Good morning, Missy!"

"Morning Riri." I replied to her ecstatic morning wish. I looked for the dirty dishes, but the sink seemed to be empty so I checked the dishwasher and it's also empty.

"So you thought I'd really let you wash the dishes, Jackie Chan?"

There goes her name calling again, but this time I didn't even reacted to it.

"I was looking forward to washing it. Why do you have to spoil the mood?"

"You're truly funny sometimes. I know you enough and you aren't exactly anticipating on it, you lazy ass. Besides I'm not that kind of person who treated her friend like some maid during their sleepovers. Although I'd personally recommend a particular person of interest, who's in dire need of a maid."

She had the audacity to Wink, which I find very attractive of her, but not now. Now, I began to give her a deadly stare.

"I'm sorry, alright. Here's a truce. Eat this scramble eggs and toast and drink this coffee. Enjoy!"

I didn't utter a single word and started gobbling the food right away. It tasted so good.

"Thank you! This breakfast is delicious. Why don't you eat something too?"

"Thank you very much, but I have to maintain my diet and protein shake would suffice for now."

"I didn't know you are on some diet. I've never maintained one even when my therapist forced me to, in accordance with my mother's secret advice, which she thought I wasn't aware at all. I didn't see the point not until now. I regretted not being on a diet when I could've flaunted myself like you're doing right now with your perfect looks and body."

I whined like a child to which Corrine started giggling. I started to giggle along with her when all of a sudden, the door bell started ringing. She walked away rather grumpily when the door was being banged continuously, annoying the both of us.
