"Neil let's go out to lunch, pleaseee!" I beg as we start getting dressed. I sat on the bed feeling pretty weak still. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't walk straight. It was basically helpless. Neil rolled his eyes with that smirk on his face.

"I guess so babe." I clapped happily.

Once we got dressed we went out into the living room. We passed Trevor's room and Jackson's. They both were so bare. So was the living room. It was clean but bare.

"Where do you want to go babe?"  I started to like the fact he's calling me babe all the time. I use to hate it so much. I don't know what changed, it felt like it happened over night.

I was waiting on Neil to get fully ready when I checked my phone. I had a whole bunch of notifications. The most recent one was a text from Kyle,my brothers friend.

K- wanna go out on that date you promised me last year ;)

I text back, 'very funny Kyle. But even if I wanted to I can't today.'

K- 'oh come on babyy, who's more important than me ;)'

I simply roll my eyes as Neil comes out, "What?"

"Nothing, I just read something dumb. It's nothing." I lock my phone. "Ready now? " He nods walking me into the garage where his car is parked. But something catches my eyes. Something covered with a black sheet.

"What is that Neil?" I point towards it.

"It's my motorcycle, I have to take you on it sometime." He smiled big, probably the biggest I've ever seen. It made me smile too.

"I'd love that Neil."

We drove around for a while until we both picked a small diner. Local people have been going there basically their whole life, their whole family has. I have seen I was born. I always loved their cherry pie, it was my mothers favorite too.

Neil parked way in the back of the lot. I didn't have a problem with that at all. I got out slow still thinking about my mother, my father.. I just missed them both so much.

"You okay babe?" Neil raised his eyebrow worriedly. I just nod and fake a smile. "Babe you can-"

"Kat!!" I turn my head to see Kyle.

"Who's that?" Neil growled starting to get jealous.

"He's like a brother to me. Don't worry." Kyle walks up to us as Neil wraps his arm around me starting to warn Kyle. I felt really awkward.

"Hey Kyle. What's up?"

"Nothing just getting pie, your favorite kind! Wanna join for a slice?"

"I told you I can't, I'm going out to lunch."

"With him? Isn't he too old for you." Neil glares at him.

"That's nothing you should worry about? I am not with you Kyle." I take a deep breath.

"You heard her." Neil pushes past him aggressively. He gripped my waist tight.

"Hey punk! You can't claim a girl!" I close my eyes.

"So close." I whisper. Neil turns around and lets me go of my waist moving to my hand, walks towards him. He hasn't said anything yet and it was scaring me.

"Ne-"

He stops right in front of Kyle, "I just claimed her. And if I didn't claim her now, you would've tried later."

"No you didn't-"

Neil pulls me into his chest with me facing him and my back facing Kyle. Without knowing he grabs my ass and squeezes it tight growling, "Yes, I did. Back off my girl." Neil makes me walk to the diner and spanks my ass hard making me jump a little. I didn't know how to feel about this.

We sit down in a booth. No one talked until he said, "I'm sorry. It was either that or kick his ass. And I knew you didn't want that, I didn't mean to claim you. I don't like sharing what's mine.." He looks at me in the eyes the whole time.

"It's okay, I understand." I smile at him then the waiter came up to us breaking up the conversation.

"Hey Kat, how's it going?"

"Good Dave! How are you and the kids?"

"We're hanging in there. What's on today's menu?"

"I think I'm going to get a salad today with some iced coffee please." I smile and hands him the menu I had in my hand.

"And for you sir?"

"Uh..  the triple please. " He runs his finger through his hair as Dave took him menu.

"For a drink?"

"Dr. pepper please. "

"I'll be back in a jiffy with your meal."

Neil an I didn't talk after that then Dave came back with our drinks after a few minutes. I thanked him while Neil just sat there. I took a deep breath not know what to say, I never know what to say to Neil. After a few minutes of not talking Dave brought our food to us.

"Thanks Dave," He nods giving us the check and walks away to serve others. "Um..Neil, I have to go back home today."

Neil's head shot up, "Why? Did I do something wrong?"

"Oh! No! I just have to work later and I kinda need the money right now."

"I can just give you money Kat, you don't even have to ask for it." He starts pulling out his wallet then I stop him right away.

"Neil, no. One, I am not taking your money. I will work for it, get it myself. Two, I have responsibilities. Working at the gas station is one of them. I have school coming up again soon. My winter break doesn't last forever. I'm still in school and I have a paper I have to write about some old dude who is dead. I just have a lot on my plate, maybe this dating thing isn't the-"

"No. Don't go there Kat. You are the one who wanted to date in the first place. Now you wanna back out?"

"I didn't say that Neil."

"That's what you were going to say."

"No, if you would've let me finish. I was going to say, maybe the dating thing happened before even knowing each other. We should take it slow. Still date, just..slowly."

"I didn't say we had to move fast. I'm only going at your pace." I shake my head knowing he isn't listening or understanding what I'm trying to say.

"Neil. What I am saying is that we cannot be together every day of every second. I have to work and go to school, work on homework and spend time with my family too. I can't just drop everything to see you. I want to keep dating just at a slower pace. Maybe we shouldn't have done the thing last night either."

"I tried stopping you-"

"I know you did. I knew what I was doing. I'm glad it happened, I just feel like it went too fast. Maybe after a while of dating that could've happened." I take a deep breath. "Plus you have a brother to spend time with. I just need to go home today, okay?" He didn't answer right away, he ate slow and calm. "Okay?" I asked again then he looked up.

"Sure."
