For goodness sake! I can't believe that I managed to spill coffee all over my old notes. Of all the things for me to do... (Sigh.) I'm going to have to start my core notes over from scratch. I suppose that I should be grateful that the blueprints were spared... but I was never one to see the metaphorical glass half full.
This week has been nothing but one fiasco after the other. First it was the ruptured pipes, then the damaged ventilation system... the core is nearing completion, yet the closer I come, the more problems it has! I'm not a religious monster, and yet even I will admit that the universe is against me in this matter.
My assistants are not making my circumstances any better, either. I had asked the king for scientists. What do I get? High school graduates. Children. Bumbling children, suitable for nothing but fetching coffee and record keeping. If I'm going to finish the core on time, I need some real help. If only there were a way I could bounce ideas off of myself, this world would be perfect. Alas, modern science has not yet advanced to that level.
Besides my own frustrations, I don't have much else to report. The turbines and wiring of the core are (for the most part) running smoothly. As soon as I fix the aforementioned malfunctions, we should see an increase in electrical outputs of up to 150%, roughly three quarters of which will be supplied to the capital and outlying districts. As for the remaining quarter, I will be using that for my own purposes. With all that the king has asked of me, he cannot simply expect me to run the lab on matches and hamster wheels-I need more power. And besides, what he does not know cannot hurt him.
Author's Note
Hey guys! Zana here. So, you may be wondering what the heck this is. Well, here's the short version--it's my thoughts behind Sans' and Papyrus's origins, in fanfic style. It'll be written like Gaster's personal notebook, and is meant to give you the ins and outs of the skelebro's connection to Gaster. It's connected to ZanaTale AU (basically, the name my fans gave to my Sans x Reader fanfic "When Two Souls Meet"), and though the information in this fanfic won't be referred to often, I thought it'd be cool to write this as a kind of side story. (It would've taken me foreeeever to include it in the original story itself.)
As it's written in journal style, the chapters will be extremely short (one entry per chapter). However, that means that it takes me less effort to write a chapter (in contrast to WTSM), and I'll probably update much more frequently.
While there's an overarching plot, it won't be presented in the style that you're used to. Oh, and on another note--the mechanics behind Sans' and Papyrus's creation are influenced heavily by Zarla's Handplates AU. The story, however, is very different. The biggest change is that no, Gaster isn't going to experiment on them. I don't like the idea of Void Dad being evil, so... yeah. -_-
Anyway, if you haven't checked out When Two Souls Meet, I highly suggest doing so. This can definitely be read as a stand alone fanfic, but as there are tie-ins between the two, so you might find it helpful in the long run.
Thanks,
Zana B. Sparrows

My Greatest Experiment (Skelebros' Origin Story)
