~Gaster~

Once again, I must apologize for the lapse in entries. Things at the lab have been picking up, especially concerning the development of the T5—all of the theoretical mathematics has been completed, and we're beginning work on the blueprints. This machine will be the culmination of my career. I've put in countless hours trying to breach the Quantum Barrier, and if all goes to plan, my research will have finally paid off. I expect things to get even busier in the future—the tasks of gathering materials and submitting official reports to the king will likely take up all of my available attention. However, before I get into the details of the theory of the T5, I thought that you would appreciate an update on how my family is doing. It has been a few years, after all.

Sans is... 14 now, I think? And Papyrus is around 11, if my calculations are correct. Those two... every day, I can't help but remember how fortunate I am to have them. Sans is proving to be an invaluable asset in the T5 construction, and shows considerable promise in the scientific field. Like me, he shows a healthy interest in quantum mechanics. I've started training him as an apprentice, and intend to convince King Dreemur that he would make a good successor. I can already see it now... Sans taking over things, continuing research here long after I'm gone. Nothing would make him—or me—happier. I've already talked it over with him, and he's very enthusiastic about it.

Papyrus, on the other hand, seems to have taken an interest in the royal guard. I'm not entirely sure why—he's never even seen them in person. But regardless, there's something about the idea of serving directly under the king that seems to have him infatuated. Despite his merciful nature, he's taken to spending a lot of time around the Gaster Magic Tester. He seems to be trying to teach himself to fight... but I'm afraid his "training" isn't going very well. No matter how much he may wish otherwise, his magic is more suited for healing than combat.

What else is there to tell you...? Oh yes, of course. Cesear's son has been coming by a lot lately. I'm not entirely sure when it started, but he's been sure to stop by the lab whenever he goes to visit his aunt and cousin over in the Capital. Sans and him have grown really close, despite their limited interaction. They seem to be keeping touch using something called... ah, what was it? The Undernet? Yes, the Undernet. It's some sort of wireless network that connects computers together—one of Marlin's creations. And despite the strangeness of it, I must admit that the system is extremely useful. I can now gather information for my research projects without having to sift through that insufferably disorganized achieve. I'm going to have to thank him for that, at some point.

Oh, speaking of Marlin. He and Katrina are currently engaged.

...

Technically speaking, this a gross breach of the Non-Intercourse agreement between coworkers... But I've already let it slide. They're well suited for one another, and everyone's very happy for them. With the exception of Davis, that is. His pranks on Marlin have been escalating over the last few months.

And... I think that's all I have to tell you. By the end of the day tomorrow, Carl, Marlin, Sans and I will be starting construction on the T5.

Seeing as you readers are from the future, I suppose you already know the fate of my latest experiment. Maybe it's famous—the contraption that finally opened the gates of the multiverse. Or maybe...

No. No, I must remain optimistic. Despite its complexity, our numbers are perfect. We've double, triple, quadruple checked the equations. This WILL work.
