*The next entry only has four words on it.*

Today is the day.

*On a hunch, you put in the DVD, and navigate to the last video on it. ...The visit to Snowdin shows up, and you're quick to turn it off again. That can't be it—there has to be something about that day. It was important to Gaster, after all. Desperate to find out what happened that day, you pay Alphys a visit, and have her take you down into the basement of her lab.*

~Your Perspective~

"(Y/N)! Um... what was it you were looking for, again?" Alphys asks, adjusting her glasses nervously.

"I'm looking for a video."

"A video? Well, I have a collection of anime you could borrow from—"

"No, not that kind of video," you say, chuckling. "I'm looking for... for a home video of sorts."

"Oh... well, I think I know where you can look... b-but I don't know if you'll find what you're looking for," she says, leading you into the Lab elevator. "How did you even know about the basement, anyway? I don't think I ever t-told you about it..."

You sigh as the elevator begins its slow descent, remembering your promise to Gaster. No one can know that the two of you met.

"...Frisk told me," you say, lying through your teeth.

"Oh... then I guess you know about the... the d-determination experiments, too..."

"Yeah," you affirm. "But don't worry, Alphys. You were just trying to help them. The amalgamates, I mean. I understand."

"...Thanks," Alphys says quietly.

Then the doors open, and you take your first step into the lab. ...It's a lot darker than you expected it to be. And dusty. The white tiles below you are covered in a fine layer of grime, and you can clearly see Alphys' footprints going back and forth. The lights overhead flicker ominously, as if they're about to go out, and the air is heavy.

Wow... this place looks a lot worse for wear...

Without Gaster and his assistants, the lab has fallen into a gross state of disrepair. Alphys may be trying her best... but this place is still too big for her to care for it all by herself.

Alphys leads you through the halls, and you take a few moments now and again to check out things of interest. At one point, you pass by something that looks a bit like a broom closet.

"Hold on a sec," you tell her.

"O-oh, um... alright."

You open the door, and cautiously look inside. There's no doubt in your mind—this was Sans' old room. All of his furniture is gone, and it's now being used to store scientific equipment... but some of his old poseters are still clinging to the walls. You sigh quietlyand exit the room again, some part of you strangely nostalgic despite never knowing Sans as a child.

"Here we are," Alphys says eventually. She leads you into a room that's lined wall-to-wall with books, documents, and yes... DVDs. You quickly get to work, walking back and forth among the isles in your search for information on what happened that fateful day in January.
