*James POV *

I walked down the many steps making my way to the kitchen. It was pretty early but I couldn't sleep. The sleeping pills did nothing for me tonight. It was 7 in the morning and I wasn't going to get any more sleep, that's for sure.

Maybe it was just my mind not shutting off. I wanted to hear the rest of Austin and Taylor's conversation. It killed me to hear her close the door and have him in her room. But I couldn't do a thing. I couldn't get up and go to her room demanding that he get out. I started thinking what if this whole getting her memory back idea fails? What if she never loves me again? What do I do then?

I'm going to move, that's what. I wouldn't be able to stay here and not have the love of my life. The one I took a bullet from and yet here I am cause I truly love her. I just want her to remember.

When I have her hand in mine, I just don't want to let go. I want to hold her. When we sat under her tree and she had her head on my shoulder. I want to be that close and closer. I need her to live. I already proofed my parents that she would wake up. Now I need to proof that we are still in love.

"Good Morning Mr. James." The security guards and Mary stood up from the island table as I walked to the kitchen.

"Morning. Please guys you don't have to stand, Just enjoy your breakfast."

"It's a habit Mr. James." Mary picked up some plates from the table. "We see it as a sign of respect. So you're up early."

"Couldn't sleep. I'm going to go to my house and get somethings ready. I'm going to take Layla's class cupcakes." I said.

"Her birthday isn't till tomorrow." Mary whispered.

"I know. I'm just not going to have enough time tomorrow, I have to work and go to the cemetery. " I reminded her.

"Would you like to join us for breakfast?" Austin called from the island.

"No thanks."

"Austin what kind of question is that. We are staff we can't just tell him to eat with us. That's why we eat earlier than the family and have dinner later than the family." Mary said with her hands to her hips. One hand holding the hand towel she was using to clean her hands.

"Non-sense I'm just not hungry, maybe some other time." I said. "Oh when Taylor wakes up tell her to call me, please."

"She's already awake." Austin looked at me. He had a small smirk on his lips that I wanted to punch so badly.

"Why aren't you with her?" I asked already angry.

"I'm having breakfast." He said in a 'duh' tone. "Another guard is with her at the garden. Daniel is cutting some roses."

"Mary I probably won't be back but I did my bed and my room is clean so don't worry about it."

"Oh, Mr. James, I always wonder why Mr. Ryan bothers to hire people. Everyone that lives here does things themselves. Except cook. I always cook."

"I was trying to make your job easier. I'm never appreciated for what I do." I joked. Mary smiled and returned to washing the dishes. I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and walked out. I went to the front garden where there was rows of rose bushes.

"Ah! It's on me. It's going to eat me alive!!!" I heard Taylor yell. Now I wonder what she was up to. I spot her sitting on the green grass looking at her hands. Daniel had his back to her going through the rose bush. A guard stood a few feet away from them with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Ah! It's going up my arm!!" Taylor yelled.

"What's going up your arm?" I asked. Taylor looked at me and quickly put her hand over her arm. "You're not going to tell me?" I took a seat in front of her.
