James' P.O.V

The pig's head was from Mr. Briskly's farm. He had reported his missing pig three days ago. It was stolen from his farm at mid day.

"I'm sorry Mr. Briskly." I said as he he looked at his pig's bloody head.

"It's alright, James. I know you had nothing to do with it.... He was my biggest pig..." His face showed how devastated he was.

"I really am sorry. I don't understand why they would take your pig. You know I love your farm Mr. Briskly, I would never try to bring harm to it."

"I know James. Thank you for the call. I should get going. You're welcome to go to the farm anytime. I like visitors." He said grabbing his starw hat from the table.

"Will do, Sir." I said. Mr. Briskly was one of my dad's old clients. I've known him since I were a kid. His farm is one of the biggest I've been too. He lives just five miles from the town's county lines. It was sad to know other people were getting hurt because of me.

Detective Dave shook Mr. Briskly's hand and apologized once again. Mr. Briskly excused himself and made his way out of the police department.

"Alright James the results are in." He said looking at his computer. "And there are no other fingerprints." He sighed.

This was it. I've been stuck at the police department for them to tell me there are no other fingerprints on the paper. No fingerprints on the box. No clues were left behind and we had no lead!

"This is bullshit! There is someone trying to harm not only me but Taylor as well. And let's not forget about everyone else who got hurt during the car accident, were you guys yet again had no clues!" I fumed. "You need to do something before anyone gets killed. Today it was an animal but what about tomorrow?"

"I'm going to put a unit on 24 hour surveillance around your block. Try not to go out much." He said.

"I have a job!" I acknowledged. "Plus I go to school and I'm not falling behind just to play someone's sick game."

"We will try to do what we can."

"If I had a dollar for every time I heard you say that I would be on a vacation far away!"

"You know that's a great idea." He said. "Maybe you should go out of town to be safe."

I sighed and slumpped on to the chair. "It's useless. No one would have gotten hurt on their way back from Las Vegas. Maybe you should run a background check on everyone at the Ryan Residence."

"Mr. Ryan already does that. Anyone looking to get hired gets their background checked." He said. "Anyone you think wants revenge?"

"I can't think of anyone who would want to hurt us. What if it's just some dumb person jealous of all the attention we got and thinks it's funny to mess with us?"

"James, there's not much I can do." He said. "Just go home and relax, I'll call you if there is something new."

I sighed and got up leaving the station. It was a waste of time. I'm going to be calling him if there is anything new. I got in my car and went to the diner. I wasn't going to school but I would go to work later.

I entered the diner and sat up at the bar on a stool.

"Afternoon James!" Hayley chirped.

"Hey Hayley, get me a hot chocolate, yeah?" I said.

"Of course, Nick, a hot chocolate!" Hayley yelled.

"The diner is empty today." I said.

"You sound gloomy. Rough day?"
