~*James' POV*~
I gave Hayley my credit card and she left. Jess and Emily sat across from me in the booth. Jess was feeding Emily a piece of their pancakes. Molly sat calmly in the floor next to us while I was on the phone.
"I know what I'm telling you, but it's best if you stay home James." My boss said.
"Mrs. Carr, I feel fine. I can go to work it's no big deal."
"I gave you two days off and two more won't do anything. Please James I need you to heal, Mr. Royal we be just fine, one of our volunteers has been working with him. Plus you're still getting paid so don't worry." She said.
"Alright then, thank you Mrs. Carr I appreciate it." I said. She said her good bye and I hung up. I knew she was giving me time so that I wouldn't sue the hospital. I wasn't going to, it's not their fault I got beat up on their property. I was just mad Kyle was being a butt.
"No work again?" Jess asked. Emily happily chewed her food. That was the usual when she ate. Sometimes she would even dance out of happiness.
"Nope. Sorry you'll be by yourself again later today." I said. Hayley brought my card back and gave Molly a treat and petting her head.
"Ugh, you suck!" Jess said. "I need you at work because you make it fun. I can't be by myself."
Today was Saturday. It was 7 in the morning but I couldn't sleep so I called Jess. We came to the diner for breakfast. I got a call from my boss saying I wasn't working today or tomorrow.
This sucked, I was alone with Molly. My parents and Layla had left to Las Vegas 2 hours ago. As well as Taylor and her parents. And I thought I was going to work that's why I stayed.
"I should of gone with Taylor." I sighed.
"Aw he misses his girlfriend." Emily said.
"Dude, she left two hours ago. Just pack up and drive, get on the road. If you leave now you'll be right on time for the competition which starts a two in the afternoon." Jess shrugged.
"Wait that's good. I'll see you all on Monday, I have to go." I stood up grabbing Molly's leash.
"I can take care of her! Brox likes to be with her." Jess said.
"Fine. Thanks a lot. You guys are the best." I handed the leash to Emily and ran out the door.
The diner wasn't far from my apartment. I was in my car when I remembered my coffee, oh well.
Jess always took Molly with her. She also had a golden retriever like Molly. His name was Brox and he was always lonely. Jess liked when Molly would go and play with Brox. Emily didn't mind since she loved dogs and both dogs were trained.
I got to my apartment unlocking the door and rushing in. I grabbed a duffel bag and stuffed some clothes in it. I went to the bathroom getting my hair comb and toothbrush, and other things I need. I grabbed Taylor's journal and stuffed it in my bag. I get in my car again and drive to the nearest gas station, to fill up the tank. I took out my phone and sent Taylor a text.
Call me when you can. ~ James
As soon as my tank was filled I drove off going to the freeway. Why couldn't my boss have called me earlier, or yesterday? Taylor and her family take a small limo because they don't have to drive. Philip drives.
My phone rang and I put it on speaker. "Hello?"
"You wanted me to call? What's wrong?" Taylor's voice came through the speaker.
"Good morning?"
"Sorry, good morning!" She said.
"I thought you might be asleep that's why I texted you."
