Molly and I waited patiently for Jess to get to the coffee shop. The waitress put the tea I had ordered on the table. I thanked her and she left. I saw Jess enter looking around for me.

"I don't believe it." She said as she sat down. "You had the nerve to call me."

"Do you want anything to drink?"

"No." She said and looked down at Molly.

"I'll be quick, I promise." I gave her the invitation.

"What is this?" She asked.

"It's an invitation to James' surprise birthday party." I said. "I thought since you are his friend maybe you would like to attend."

"I thought you and James weren't talking-"

"That doesn't concern you."

"It does because he's my friend."

"Jessica, I didn't call you to fight. Jenna called me wanting to do something for her son's birthday. So we decided to throw him a party. You want to prove you're his friend? Show up. Bring his other friends." I gave her about five more invitations.

"I don't get how James always goes back to you." She said.

"You can't stay away from the person you truly love. I tried, but I need him now more than ever. I have a feeling we'll have to be friends at some point."

"I don't think so."

I shrugged. "Well here's some exclusive news just for your ears and no one else... James is going to be a daddy."

Her eyes looked down at the table. She seemed to think about what I had just said. "Are you serious?"

"I wouldn't lie about such innocent thing. A baby shouldn't even be a joke. James knows I'm pregnant, he found out last week."

"Aren't you with Kyle?"

"It's a complicated. I'm not with him because I want to, I'm with him because the Detective said I have to. James and I are a secret."

"I apologize for being an asshole. I didn't know you had such complicated life."

"I apologize too. I know I'm an asshole most of the time."

"I'll be there." She said. "I'll be at the party."

"Thank you." I offered her a smile. She returned it and stretched out her hand. "Friends?"

"Friends." I shook her hand.

I told her I had to leave. She promised not to say a word about my pregnancy. I knew I could be her friend. Any friend of James was going to have to deal with me.

Philip finally took us home. We were now back at my dad's house. The kitchen was remodeled and we moved back in. I was glad to have my room back. Everything was back to normal except for the fact that Mary and Austin aren't working for us.

The good thing was that we didn't need a chef because my dad knew how to cook. Therefore proving why he has a chain of restaurants. I didn't mind my dad cooking as long as I didn't have to do it. Instead I cleaned, did the laundry, and made sure the house was spotless. I think I was turning into a neat freak.

I entered my home going straight up to my room. Molly followed after me. I knew my parents weren't home. My dad was somewhere in San Francisco, California for business. Debbie was in the studio. They were remodeling a room.

I opened my laptop calling Amanda.

"Hey Tay!" She waved.

"Hey Manda." I said taking off my shoes. "How have you been?" I asked taking a seat in front of my laptop.
