Chapter Fourteen

Steve Rogers Point of View: "I bet by the time they come back they'll be a couple." Natasha said, referring to Bucky and Dani.

"I thought they were already a couple?" I said and she laughed. "They practically are." She added.

"Alright, listen up." Tony interrupted everyone, and we all turned to him. "What?" Sam asked, putting down the golf club he was playing around with.

"As you know Bucky and Dani are gone, which is so sad, boohoo, but I am so happy, I can't deal with the constant flirting anymore. But, anyways, anyway we will be getting a file transfer from them and I need all hands on deck to help me."

"Of coarse, we want them to be safe." I said and Sam rolled his eyes. "Yeah, send the two most vulnerable kids into a black market." Sam scoffed at Stark.

"Wait, what?" I asked, very surprised. Tony did not tell me they were walking into a black market, he told me it was a simple mission for some Intel.

I was behind pissed now, Bucky and Dani are easily my best friends, I love them both so much. They both have had very fucked up pasts, excuse the language, and Tony risked it all for himself? I don't think so...

"You son of a bitch!" I shouted and stood up, everyone looking at me. "You did not tell me that Tony, you told me they were on a simple Intel mission."

"Listen, they're the best-" I cut him off and walked over to him. "You are beyond selfish, ignorant, and I've looked past it all, but this? Dani is just a kid! Bucky is still vulnerable to Hydra! You could've hired anyone else, but you chose them?!"

He rolled his eyes and I was furious now, "Now is not the time to get cocky, Stark!"

"Steve, they can handle it." Natasha comforted and put an arm on my shoulder. "They better come back or else, I swear Tony-" I said and Wanda dragged me out of the room.

"They'll come back Steve, and I hate Stark for doing this, but they are the best."

"You better be right, if they get hurt, or worse, I will tear this building down, you have my word." I said and stormed down the hall.

How could he do this? Endanger my best friends? Endanger his own friends? No one in the world would ever do that,

Bucky Barnes Point of View: "Let's go, the limo is already here!" I shouted and Dani ran out in a gorgeous navy blue dress that cut off at her ankles, her hair was up and she looked amazing

"You're beautiful." I blurted out and she looked a little shocked at first, she blushed then grabbed my hand.

"Ready Mr. Marvel?" She asked and I smiled. "Yes, Mrs Marvel." I answered and grabbed her hand with my real one.

She's the only girl who has ever made me sweaty. I get all clammy around her. Her hand was small, and soft and her nails were painted a color that matches the dress and made her eyes pop

We walked down to the limo and the other couples were already waiting. I made sure to always have a hand on her at all times, just because I felt like I could protect her.

She smiled and I could tell her was a little nervous. "Glad to see you two could make it."

"Thank you for the invitation." Dani smiled and the limo drove us to the destination. There was a lot of small talk involved inside the restaurant until we got them drunk. Not going to lie, I wish I could get drunk, it would make things a lot easier but sadly, I can't anymore.

My last drink was with Steve at some bar, after he saved me from Hydra. I should've cherished it more.

Dani was eating her meal when she suddenly looked up. I put my hand on her thigh and she started to breath heavy, no one seemed to notice but me

"What's wrong?" I whispered in her ear. "The man in the black shirt, has a gun, he's been checking you out." She whispered and I looked up at him to see him fiddling with something in his pocket.

"Go to the bathroom." I told her, my heart beating very fast, I was worried she would get hurt. Or maybe our cover would be blown.

"Okay." She said and excused herself. I made sure she walked safely to the bathroom but he man seemed to follow her. I wanted to get up but I knew she could handle herself and my arm tech could get damaged and we'd be killed

I nervously tapped my foot waiting for Dani to come back but she didn't for a couple of minutes. "I'm going to go check on Victoria." I said, that was supposedly Dani's undercover name.

I excused myself and walked over to the restrooms where I saw Dani freaking out. "What's wrong?" I asked her and she ran into my arms. I hugged her and rubbed her back. "Tell me what happened, I can fix whatever it is." I told her and she was shaking

"The man, he, tried to shoot me, so I snapped his neck, he's dead in be bathroom. We need to get out of here."

"It will be okay, the limo is waiting outside, go and wait for me, I'll tell them you're sick. I'll take care of the body as well." I said and she nodded.

Surprisingly she had no cuts, no wounds, no tears in her dress or anything. But she was pale as a ghost. I walked into the ladies bathroom and made sure no one was in here before locking the door.

I opened the stall and hid the man inside the vent. It took me a few seconds and then I walked back out and told them how she was feeling.

"I'm so sorry to hear you must go, but remember in two days we will be having a dinner meeting where you officially invest."

"We will be there." I said and walked to the limo.
