Chapter Twenty One

The whole team was gathered around her, Dani was asleep, she was hooked up to hundreds of different medicines, food tubes, anything and everything.

Bucky walked inside the tower with his girlfriend, Victoria, they were holding hands. They walked to the whole team and Bucky looked confused. "What are we gathered around?" He asked and that's when everyone backed out of the way to reveal a sick Dani.

She was half dead. Bucky was speechless. "Is this your ex?" Victoria asked, personally, Steve found her annoying, but only because she wasn't Dani. "Yes, Vicky. It's his ex" Steve answered harshly.

"How the hell did you find her? What's wrong with her? What?" He was so surprised, he felt so guilty, she looked horrible, he knew this was on him, he was the reason she even left.

"She was traced through some random girls Twitter, she was in the background of a picture, we brought her in an hour ago. We notified you but, I guess you were too occupied..." Natasha snapped and started to pet Dani with her hand.

They all felt sympathy towards Dani, because she was like a younger sister to them, but Buck was just a colleague to them, nothing more, Dani, they had all trained her, watched her grow up. She was special to all of them.

Dani's Point of View: I opened my eyes and was blinded by a lot of white lights. "She's waking." Someone whispered. "Shhhhhh!" Someone said even louder. I opened my eyes and noticed absolutely all the Avengers, and Bucky and some beautiful girl next to each other, but I didn't care right now. I needed to apologize for everything.

"Please, I'm sorry." I started, but Steve cut me off with a kiss to the cheek and Natasha hugged me and Sam was actually crying, I've never seen him cry. "What did I do?" I asked, very worriedly. I bet I hurt someone.

"Nothing, you didn't do anything." Tony said, he seemed distant, he was never like this.

Everyone seemed uptight and stressed, which is all on me.

"I didn't snap back into the Winter Soldier mode?" I asked in disbelief. "No, no. We found you, in a tunnel sleeping." Tony answered, in a calming voice.

"I'm so sorry for everything, I don't do bad things anymore, I promise I've kept myself out of trouble, I just knew I wasn't welcome here so I didn't come back." I admitted. "You were always welcome," Wanda said and glared at Bucky.

"My name is Victoria, I am Bucky's girlfriend." The tiny brunette said.

"Wait, back up, what?" I asked and my heart dropped, I've never felt this. I thought she was a new hero or something, he moved on?

I looked at Bucky and he nodded slowly, and looked down to the ground. My heart started to beat faster and faster, and everyone could hear it because of the heart monitor.

"She's going into shock!" Dr. Banner shouted and my whole world froze, it slowed down.

"Bucky get out!" Nat yelled and shoved them out and I started sobbing. Everyone tried to calm me down but nothing was working. "We're gunna put you to sleep" someone shouted and I nodded, anything to get out of this situation.

Bucky Barnes Point of View: "My name is Victoria, I am Bucky's girlfriend." Victoria said and my heart dropped, why the hell would he say that. 'Now is not the fucking time for this bullshit I thought to myself and I saw Daniella's face drop. Her heart was beating fast, you could see it on the monitor. She looked at me and I looked down.

I couldn't bare to look at her sad face.

We were kicked out and Victoria was asking so many question's but I ignored, her, I was only thinking about Daniella's health.

Sure, I missed her, and I feel so much better she is home safe now, but things aren't the same anymore. I have feelings for Victoria, or so I thought. Maybe because she reminded me so much of Daniella, but now that she's home...

Steve came out and whisked Victoria away. "Is she okay?" I immediately asked and Steve was pissed, I couldn't tell if it was at me though or just at Daniella.

"You think it's a good idea to bring in your fucking girlfriend after Dani admitted to loving you? She's been gone for a year, we lost a year with her because you lost your temper? Then you have the audacity to introduce your girlfriend to Dani. I swear you're a moron, get her out of here, and leave Dani alone, or you'll deal with me."

I held my breath. "I'm sorry." I said.

"She's gunna be fine, but you're not allowed to see her until I say so, got it?"

"No-"

"No Bucky, you are the one who moved on, who got a new girlfriend, you forgot about her, you don't even deserve to talk to her, you idiot, I was the one who was there for her, who didn't yell at her when she admitted how scared she was of losing us, yet you pushed her away. You have your precious Vicky, now get the hell out of the medical ward before I kick you out."

I nodded. "Fine, and you're right, I'm sorry. I truly am, I've made a lot of mistakes and I'm sorry." I said and walked out of the medical ward.

Steve's Point of View: I love Bucky to death, and I'd do anything for him, but Dani has been through some serious shit and no one will hurt her again. Not while I'm around.

Bucky has his own precious girl, I know she's just a rebound but she cares for him and Bucky truthfully doesn't deserve anyone after what he pulled the past year.

I walked back into the room and everyone was watching her sleep. I smiled and leaned down and kissed her forehead. She stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes. "I'm never leaving again." She whispered, "Damn right." I said and she giggled, she was on a lot of drugs right now she was very loopy.

She grabbed my hand and went back to sleep. "She's still our same Dani." Sam smiled.

"Definitely, but she's going to need a lot of you to keep her happy, keep her occupied don't let her think of Hydra, being alone, and most of all, Barnes. Okay?"

Tony said and everyone nodded. "And no one, under any circumstances, let Barnes in here."

"He's a bad influence on her, as we can all see." Sam said. "I wish you were wrong." I said but they were all right about Bucky just one time

But, just this once.
