Chapter Twenty Eight

I tucked some hair behind her ears. "I know, I know what you're feeling but I promise you it gets easier, just trust me doll. To make me feel better, you'd always hang out with me. You treated me like a normal person, like I was just a friend. And I want nothing more, than for you to see yourself the way I do."

She looked down and wiped away a few tears.

"And how do you see me?"

"As my best friend, my partner, a hero, I see you as the kindest person I know who puts everyone else before her, I see you as the most beautiful girl ever. You're funny, sweet, the greatest person I know. I wish you saw yourself as I did."

She stepped closer to me and grabbed my hands. "You really mean all that?" She asked in disbelief, "I do." I said and she moved a hand up to behind me neck.

"Kiss me." She breathed.

"Don't tempt me, are you serious?" I asked and she nodded.

I leaned down and pulled her in, her lips were so soft, and our lips moved in such perfect sync, then she got sloppier and the kiss became more desperate.

I teased her with my tongue and she smiled against my lips. She pulled away and took a deep breath.

"Maybe you could convince me to stay." She said and I leaned in and kissed her again.

We were interrupted when there was a flash, we both turned to see Steve and Nat with a camera and smiling.

"I hate you guys." I teased and Dani buried her head in my chest.

"Hate to break up the moment but you're going to want to come inside. It's about Christopher..." Natasha said and Dani raised a brow.

We both walked inside hand in hand, she was leaning on me. We walked into the meeting room and all took a seat, all the Avengers were here.

Tony was standing, walking in circles. "Listen everyone, I have been tracking down Christopher, because it was my fault all of this happened. He made an appearance in New York an hour ago, we need to stop him for good.

"I am going!" Dani yelled.

"If she's going I'm going!" I called and Tony rolled his eyes.

"Slow down tiger. We think he has an army of enhanced individuals, after he experimented on them he is forcing them to work for him."

"Great." Wanda sighed. "Tomorrow we set out and find his base, tonight everyone get rest. I have Jarvis tracking him, he won't get away. But everyone will need to be well rested for this." Tony said and no one argued.

We all need sleep, we don't even know what we will be facing.

"But everyone load up your weapons and get ready for tomorrow, we finish what he started."

I felt ready, I could take him on now, I need to get my revenge.

We all dispersed and Dani followed me, "I'm glad this is my last mission, and I'm glad it's going to be with you." She said and I forgot for a minute she was leaving.

"I don't want you to retire, I'll lose my mind without you around." She rolled her eyes and leaned in and kissed me.

"I'm only a few blocks over."

"It's not the same as you living right across the hall though, you know it."

I pulled her in for a kiss quickly, I love that I can do this now.

We walked back to my room. "Can I sleep in here tonight?" She asked and I nodded.

"You don't even have to ask." I said and she made an adorable face.

"I don't want to think about tomorrow, I need you to keep me distracted." She said and I smirked and raised a brow.

"I have a few ideas."

She smirked as well and climbed onto my lap. "Care to share?" She hummed and I flipped her so I was on top of her.

"Well, they have to do with less clothing."

She blushed and pulled me down and we started making out.

"Let's do it then." She said after a while, and I was surprised, I was just teasing her. Of course I wanted her, but I wanted her to be ready.

"Are you serious?" I asked and she nodded. "I've been waiting for this for a while." She smiled and you can imagine what we did next.

She changed into one of my clean T-shirts and climbed back into bed.

"You think anyone heard us?" I asked and she nodded. "Definitely." She blushed and I kissed her forehead. "We will get teased over it, I can guarantee it." Dani laughed.

"How was I? I haven't had sex in over seven decades." I said and she shrugged.

"You're my first, I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was pretty perfect." She gushed and I sort of thought I was her first but wasn't too sure.

She kissed me before getting up and turning off the lights. "Can we go to bed?" She asked after jumping back into bed.

"Sure babe," I said and kissed her quickly before cuddling up against her.

I think this was the best night of sleep I've had in a long time.

Dani's Point of View: Bucky and I did some unholy things last night that we will keep to ourselves.

But I've never felt closer to him. I fell asleep with a smile on my face. I opened my eyes and Bucky was awake and starring at me.

"How long have you been awake?" I asked and his cheeks turned pink. "A while, we need to get up and meet the team in a half hour." He said and I leaned in and kissed him.

"Then let's go!" I said and pulled him out of bed and changed into my suit. I pulled my hair back and brushed my teeth. I then loaded up all my weapons and when I came out Bucky was changed too.
