Aftermath (Bucky Barnes)

Chapter Thirty

Bucky and I both moved out of the way and both grabbed weapons from our suits and fired at him but it seemed to be bullet proof.

He pulled out a grenade launcher and pointed it at me.

"Dani!" Steve shouted and threw his shield at me. The shield got to me just in time and sheltered me from the blast, but the impact sent me flying into a nearby building.

I shattered the glass windows and groaned. I opened my eyes and a whole entire office was staring at me.

They helped me up and I thanked them all and jumped out of the building and threw Cap's shield at Christopher and it shattered the protective casing surrounding his face.

Steve grabbed the Shield and stared to disable his suit.

I climbed up on it and before I could get to him something pushed me off. It was that female spider girl.

I ripped off her mask and she was just a kid. I used the webbing Peter gave me, when she dropped me in mid air, it caught onto a building and I swung down.

"Damn that's fun." I said and suddenly felt pain all throughout my body.

I had no idea what happened. I looked down and I was being electrocuted. I ripped the chip off me and crushed it in my hands.

Bucky then charged at Christopher and ripped him out of the suit.

I thought Bucky was in the clear that's until he took out a gun and shot Bucky twice. I heard the shots echo. Everything happened in such slow motion

I ran over and kicked Christopher in the face as hard as I could and teeth came flying out. I then took out my gun and shot him.

I ran over to Bucky and he was now bleeding everywhere.

"Oh Bucky." I mumbled and applied pressure.

"Can you focus on me?" I asked and he didn't move. "Says something." I yelled and he cringed. He was in a lot of pain. He was shot twice in the stomach, his whole uniform was turning red.

I started crying when he coughed up blood.

"You can't leave me," I cried and he turned his focus on me, "I have too much I need to tell you." I cried more and he cracked a smile.

"I love you, I have loved you, since, th- the first time I laid eyes on...you." He said and I smiled.

"I love you too, I always thought I'd be the first to say it." I admitted and he smiled

My whole world was slowing down. Everyone gathered around and Tony stepped out of his suit.

"Bucky I can save you, but you need to stay awake." He said and Bucky closed his eyes and struggled to open them again.

I was sweating like crazy and I was still in shock and total dismay.

Bucky could be dying. He was dying. He grabbed my hand and Tony and Steve helped lift him into the jet. We were the only ones to go, the others continued fighting the left over mutants.

Bucky was breathing very slowly. He was starring at me though. "Tell me how much you love me." He smiled and I tried to smile but I couldn't lose him.

"I-, I love-" I couldn't continue because I started crying. The blood and sweat on my face was mixing and I felt horrible.

Steve was trying to be brave for Bucky and I, Steve started talking for me. "I remember Dani talking about how much she liked you, it was giving me headaches, she'd always ask stupid questions just to find out more about you." He said and laughed.

Bucky Barnes Point of View: Everything hurt in my body, everything.

Dani was crying and I didn't want her too but I was trying to keep myself from crying.

We arrived at the tower and they all ran me into the lab, Dr. Cho started to work on me, she put me under drugs and I passed out. But the last thing I saw was Dani and Steve crying onto each other.

Dani's Point of View:

I watched Bucky close his eyes and Hellen Cho started to work on him. My heart was beating faster than it ever has before.

I felt dizzy. "Dani you're bleeding!" Steve yelled and I looked down at my arm and I was.

"I think I was shot too," I said and Tony ran over and took the bullet out of my arm. He then stitched me up and wrapped a cloth around me.

"Be honest, is Bucky going to die?" I asked through tears

"Honestly, I can't tell, But, prepare for the worst, we never know." He said and I hugged him.

"I love him so much," I sobbed. "He can't die."

"I know you love him, and he knows it too." He said. "Dr. Cho is the best, she can save him."

I hope he was right.

Tony's Point of View: I hated seeing Daniella this upset. I have to admit, her and Barnes make a cute couple and they both love each other

Daniella was still sobbing on my chest. Steve walked in and his eyes were red. Dani didn't know he came in.

He shook his head no, meaning he didn't make it.

I felt my heart break for Dani, and I admit, Barnes and I grew close after I blackmailed him a few times. How would I tell her this news?

I don't think she will ever be the same, and it's my fault. I sent them off to see Christopher in the first place. I won't ever forgive myself for this.
