Chapter 3: The Dock

At the dock...

"Oh dad, I miss you so much, so many things are going wrong and so many people are suspicious these days, Allie, Mom, Atlas, and you. But to be honest you've been suspicious for a year." Lena started while wiggling her feet in the water.

The moon shined bright along the stars, that's what made the dock the best and most peaceful place of the house.

"Why don't you come home already? We need you here." Lena started when her phone started blaring knocking her train of thought.

Caller ID: Unknown...

Since it was an unknown caller at 11:00 at night she didn't answer.

5 minutes later.

Ring ring, Lena's phone went off again with the same number, but she declined.

Another five minutes passed and yet again, her phone went off with the same number, So she answered it.

"Hello?" Said Lena.

"Is this Lena Anderson?" Asked the person on the line.

"Yes this is she." For some reason this voice sounded very familiar.

"Its me." And the line went silent for a minute.

"Who, who are you?" Asked Lena forgetting how to breathe.

"Lena, it's your father." Said the caller.

"I-I don't believe you!" And she hung up and took a deep breath.

She went inside and ran upstairs before her mom could say anything. But as mom's are supposed to do she went upstairs and politely let herself into Lena's room.

"Honey, what happened at the dock?" Asked her mom.

"I-I d-don't w-want t-to t-talk a-about I-it." Whispered Lena as tears rushed down her cheeks.

"That's okay baby, we will talk later." And she left to let her sleep.

Lena fell asleep and this time she was glad she was able to sleep in.

Early Saturday morning Lena went out to the dock to talk to her dad again.

"Dad, I domtknow what happened yesterday but I know it wasn't you." Lena started.

But it was.

"What was that? Who said that?" Lena stood up and looked around.

It's me your father.

"No this can't be, your not here your just in my mind." Lena was freaking out.

She ran into the house and closed the blinds and sat down in a corner, not knowing what just happened.

"Lena, honey is that you, are you alright?" Lena's mom came downstairs only to see Lena crying on the floor.

"Honey what happened?" Asked Lena's mom.

"It... Happened... A-again." Said Lena.

"What happened again, tell me?" Said Lena's mom.

"Dad happened." Said Lena.

"Honey your father isn't here, he's on a boat somewhere." Lena's mom started. "Can you tell me exactly what happened?"

Lena stood up, whipped the tears from her eyes and started talking.

"Last night I got a call from an unknown number while I was at the dock. I answered it cause they called me three times. When I started to talk, the person on the line said that he was my dad." Said Lena.

"What about just now?" Asked Lena's mom.

"He was speaking to me through my mind." Said Lena calming down more.

"Honey, come sit with me." Started Lena's mom. "Toby sweetie can you come down here real quick?"

"Coming mom!" Yelled Toby.

Toby came downstairs and sat down at the table with Lena and their mom.

"What is it?" Asked Lena.

"I don't know how to say this but... You guys have... superpowers." Whispered Lena's mom.

"Wow mom thanks for turning this into a joke, hint hint not making me feel better!" Yelled Lena stomping up the stairs.

Toby just sat there with his mouth wide open. Lena's mom sighed and went up to Lena's room.

"Honey it's true, try telling me something through your mind." Said Lena's mom.

"Ok fine." Agreed Lena.

...

"Hurtful!" Said Lena's mom.

"Wait, you heard that?" Asked Lena.

"Yes I did, we all have telepathy but Toby's won't show for another few years." Said her mom.

"Is that the only superpower?" Asked Lena.

"Yes, that's how you were speaking to your father." Replied Lena's mom.

"O.M.G" and Lena pretty much passed out.
