Chapter 4: Superpower

"Lena honey are you okay?" Asked her mom trying to wake her up.

"What?" Lena started opening her eyes.

"You passed out." Said Lena's mom.

"Oh yeah, and I had a dream where you said that we had telepathy, isn't that weird?" Asked Lena sitting up.

"Honey that wasn't a dream, you do have telepathy." Said Lena's mom.

Lena pretty much passed out again but her mom caught her before she fell backwards.

"I can't believe it, we actually have superpowers." Screamed Lena.

"Now don't get ahead of yourself, we only have telepathy." Lena's mom glared at her sipping her tea.

"What exactly can we do with telepathy?" Asked Lena.

"Well you can communicate with others that don't have telepathy through their mind but they can't talk back. You can talk to anyone that does have telepathy and they can either respond in their mind or out loud." Explained Lena's mom.

"So can I tell my friends things through my mind?" Asked Lena.

"No no no absolutely not! Before you ask why, it's because you don't want to freak out your friends cause bad things could happen." Explained Lena's mom.

"How do I know if someone has telepathy?" Asked Lena.

"Now that you have discovered your powers you will hear a faded sound of their name when you walk by them." Explained Lena's mom.

They went back and forth asking questions giving long explanations until a 2 days past and it was Monday.

"Can I ask you something?" Asked Lena to her mom.

"Sure what is it?" Replied her mom.

"How did you and/or dad get superpowers or how did you find that out?" Asked Lena.

"That's a discussion for another day." Said her mom getting into the car.

At school...

"Hi Lena!" Yelled Allie as she walked over to Lena.

Lena felt a loud buzz in her ear and then a whisper of allies name. She gasped and froze.

"Lena, what's wrong?" Asked Allie putting her hand on Lenas shoulder.

"I-I have to go." Lena darted off to find the closest empty classroom where she could sit.

"I can't believe that my best friend has superpowers. Well I heard it but maybe she doesn't know yet. But what if she does? Does that mean shes been lying to me forever? Do I tell her or do I not tell her? Ugh I don't know!" And Lena kept asking questions while pacing until the bell rang.

"What was that about?" Allie whispered to Lena.

Lena told her through her mind to see what would happen.

"What!?" Whisper-screamed Allie.

"Ms.Vixen, please do not disrupt my class until the end." Announced the teacher.

"Yes sir." Allie said with a gulp.

Lena chuckled and shook her head.

After class...

"How did you do that?" Screamed Allie in Lenas face.

"Do what?" Lena denied.

"You told me through your mind, your not supposed to-" Allie quickly covered her mouth.

"AH HA! So you do know about the powers!" Whisper-screamed Lena trying not to collect attention.

Allie sighed, "I have to get to class but we will talk later." And she walked away.

Lena did a little dance before heading to class.

At lunch...

"Soooooooo," Lena said creeping up to Allie.

"So what?" Asked Allie.

"You know, the thing?" Said Lena.

Allie tried not to lose her temper. "Come with me." She stood up and took Lena by the arm.

"Listen, I wasn't allowed to tell you until you found out but now that you have I can." Allie started but got a phone call, she answered.

"Yes I know... But she already knows... But she's my best friend... Fine, I quit!... That's what I thought." She hung up the phone and walked back to Lena.

"Just to be clear you found your mind set?" Asked Allie.

"My what?" Asked Lena.

"Your mind set, that's what people call the superpower cause it sounds less scary." Answered Allie.

"Oooooh, yes." Lena smiled.

"Well I guess it's safe to say that I have them too, and so does your family. But also," Allie crossed her fingers. "So does Atlas." She clenched her fist.

Lenas mouth dropped open and started to mummble and then she fainted, again.
