CHAPTER 6

I drew out the sword River gave me as the man charged for us, his sharp sword headed towards me, I dodged to the left a little too late as the sword swiped a line on my right cheek, warm blood poured out down to my chin and dripped onto the floor.

A golden glow gathered into my fists as I punched the man with my other hand. I looked astonishingly at my hand, I didn't know I could do that. River ran in front of me as he held out his sword, anyone would think, he's really strong but not when River held the sword, it looked like he didn't have enough strength, but a single swing of his sword sent the man flying.

I looked at Cinna and Lucia in the distance, it seemed that Cinna wasn't as lucky as us, Lucia knelt beside him with her hands over his chest, frantically trying to heal him with her powers, I wanted to head over but I knew I couldn't.

It didn't take long for the man to get up again, but just as he got up, somehow he fell back down with a shot of lightning piercing deeply into his body. I could tell it wasn't the weather as for there was not a single sign of lightning in the night sky. I turned to see who had done it, but there was no one then I looked at River but he seemed completely normal.

The man disintegrated as the wind blew away ashes. River returned his sword to it's sheath on his waist. He headed towards Cinna and Lucia as I quickly followed behind. Cinna had recovered slightly.

"Can you walk?" asked Lucia worriedly as Cinna tried to get up, he winced at the pain but still nodded. "Lets get to town and look for somewhere we can stay,"Lucia turned to me and River.

"Okay," River said. We headed down to town as Lucia helped Cinna. As we arrived an old lady looked at Cinna and gasped.

"Oh, my, is he alright?" the lady asked. Lucia shook her head in response.

"How about you come into my house and I can help treat him?"

"Thank you," said River. When we arrived, the lady let us put Cinna on the bed.

"River, me and you should head out to keep trying to solve this mission," I said glancing down at Cinna, he dipped his head down as a nod and let the door shut behind him as we stood outside of the house.

Suddenly a piercing scream broke the silence of the night. A girl's scream.

"That way!" I cried as I pointed down the streets. We ran to an abandoned dark alley way. We were too late, a puddled of blood stained to floor beneath our feet. Another girl stood chuckling, her hands were stained with blood.

"Why, I never thought it was you, Caroline," said River. Caroline, who was that?

"Fancy meeting you here, River, and who is that, your new girlfriend perhaps?" Caroline teased.

"Tch, as annoying as always," River had drawn his sword ready to strike, "So you're the one who's behind all this murdering."

"And, so what?" River didn't wait for her answer, before Caroline knew it, she was gone, sliced in half. I was too shocked to speak as River could kill someone so easily. Somehow, I didn't think that was the end, how could the numerous amounts of killing be done by that one girl?

Then I noticed three silhouettes walking their way towards us, "River," I whispered as he turned to face the same way I did, but that was when I recognized something, it was a girl and two boys, in the girls hand clutched a sword. Alice. As the three people came into the light under the lamp, I knew I was right, I relaxed my stance and smiled.

"Hey you guys, what are you doing here?" I asked Alice, Zylen and Kira.

"Hey, well we're here because according to the information we obtained, our mission has a connection with yours," Alice said as her face darkened. Kira didn't seem to care as he remained sucking on his lollipop. "Where are the others, Lucia and Cinna?"

"Oh them, they're with an old woman who kindly let us stay to treat Cinna's wounds, come on, we'll show you," I replied. I walked back to the house as I could see Lucia through the window. I turned the door handle and walked in.

"River, Winter, you're back! And Alice, Zylen and Kira why are you guys here?" Lucia cried happily. Alice explained the situation to Lucia as the rest of us went to check on Cinna. To our surprise, Cinna sat on the bed talking with the lady whilst giggling.

"Looks like you recovered quickly," I grinned. He smiled at us and then looked stunned to see Zylen and Kira. "Oh and about zylen and Kira, we'll tell you later or maybe Lucia will tell you, but right now, our main problem has been revealed, Alice thinks that both our missions have a connection to each other," I said. Cinna frowned and screwed up his mouth.

"It looks like these missions won't be over anytime soon," Cinna replied
