CHAPTER 13

Zylen was dead. River and I ran quickly to the bomb, a boy stood laughing at the ruins and down at Alice and Kira. Tears trickled down the side of Alice's cheek as she quietly cried. I squeezed my eyes shut forcing them to keep the tears in. I clenched my fist and gathered my power into it, teleporting to him, I punched as hard as I could, The boy spun around just in time before the punch would have hit him, he opened his hand to stop the punch. I knew I couldn't push past, I swung a side kick at him, making him fall. My eyes started to water as the smoke gathered around, the air was filled with a metallic and burning smell.

Suddenly with a wave of his hand, slayers gathered around us. Alice and Kira stood up next to River and held out their swords, I backed away and joined them, then my eyes shut, red magic circles started to form under our enemies' feat, I opened my eyes, they were red again. Then all the enemies started to slowly disintegrate. It had happened again.

Kira relaxed as the enemies disappeared, but still he looked back at the still, cold body of Zylen gloomily. Despite the calm look in Alice's eyes, there was still a hint of sadness and pain, she closed her eyes and turned away, a quiet exhale followed after as she wiped away a glistering tear drop from her eye.

Rain hit loudly onto the concrete floor, my hair dripped with water as if I had put my hair into a shower. I stared quietly at the stone grave carved with Zlyen's name, white flowers laid at the front of the grave as the petals soaked with water. I didn't physically feel cold but a cold feel was always with me when I was at the grave.

Alice turned from the grave silently and waved her hand gesturing to go back to our rusted black vehicle. We followed with the same silence, the rain seemed louder than usual and so did our footsteps as it hit the clear grey puddles of water, everything seemed darker. Then I noticed a figure standing by the car, a girl. Her purple hair swayed with the wind, a streak of white hair was also mixed within her purple hair, but as I got closer, her face reminded me of a certain person.

Alice approached the girl but her face was stern and stiff. "Do you need anything from us?" Her voice seemed hard and harsh at the same time. The girl bowed down slightly and then lifted her head again politely. Despite the polite manner, in her eyes their was a hint of sadness, a tear seemed to dwell inside her eye.

"I believe that you are Alice right?" Alice nodded. "I...am Zylen's younger sister, Aaliyah, I have come to ask to join your agency."

"I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to refuse..." Alice was cut off by Aaliyah.

"If you think that I might die like my brother, I won't and even if I will, it will be fine. Please trust me," Aaliyah replied, reluctant to give up on joining. Alice sighed and looked back at us, asking if we should. We nodded, except River who diverted his eyes and stared off in the distance. I knew that he was worried for Aaliyah, she could die like Zylen.

"You may, join." Alice said at last still a little bit reluctant. We got into the car and drove off back to our base.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We sat down around a wooden round table.

"My abilities are very different to my brothers, while he is a water user, I am  a necromancer and a wind controller." Aaliyah's voice echoed slightly in the half empty room.

"Okay, we will tell you ours later but can you please tell us why you wanted to join," Alice asked as she lifted her hand to her head. A tear dropped from Aaliyah's eye as she stuttered to explain. I pushed out my chair as it screeched across the floor.

"Alice, I'm going to be outside for a moment, you guys can continue," I stood up from my chair and left the eerie room, it felt weird sitting in there, a deadly type of feeling swelled around Aaliyah, she looked pale which was a slight bit scary, the paleness was not a normal type of paleness. I bit my finger as I sucked on it. I sat on a bench outside in the garden.

Suddenly a voice broke my thoughts. "What are you doing out here," I shot up from the chair and turned with a hand gripped on my sword that hung from my belt. I exhaled and snorted.

"Well, about to do some training but what brings you out here, River."

"Nothing really, they're till talking so why don't we have a match together, since it won't matter if you use your powers?" I pursed my lips and then nodded.

"First lets go somewhere else," River lead me further into the garden until we approached a door on the stone fence which I could have sworn that it wasn't there before. River tilted his head, as if saying try open it. I pushed at it but it wouldn't even budge a single bit, I stepped back and looked at River. He showed a small smile and then with his hand in his pockets he kicked the door open and went in gesturing for me to follow. The door automatically shut behind us as we got into stance.

"Ready?" River asked as I nodded. Then before I knew it he was in front of me, he swung his arm across as if trying to knock my head off.
