Mỷrἇ walked out of the hut she was sharing with Jåcóbӱ. It was their third day in their new home and she was getting bored. There wasn't enough for her to do. Mỷrἇ wanted to go hunting and to learn more about the magic that she knew bubbled just underneath the surface of her consciousness. The men who Ştårbrîghţ knew were still after them.

Mỷrἇ wandered through camp with no destination in mind. She wound her way over by where Ƒáeláƞ's hut was. She had seen little of him the past few days. As Mỷrἇ passed Ƒáeláƞ's hut, Ƒáeláƞ stepped outside. He smiled when he saw her and motioned for her to wait. Ƒáeláƞ jogged over to her and offered her a warm smile.

"Did you sleep well last night?"

Mỷrἇ shrugged. "I haven't slept well since Jåcóbӱ and I learned of Ştårbrîghţ's plan to have us murdered. I have never been a sound sleeper except when Jåcóbӱ is near."

Ƒáeláƞ nodded. "You two are close and it's nothing to be ashamed of. As you well know it is acceptable amongst our people to marry relatives."

"I know Ƒáeláƞ, but Jåcóbӱ and I have already spoken of that. Jåcóbӱ has already decided never to take a spouse. He will let me marry. Jåcóbӱ knows that it is our best interest for him to be my protector and not my lover."

"You're brother is wise." Ƒáeláƞ was silent as they walked through the camp. Many minutes had passed before Ƒáeláƞ spoke again. "Have you thought of who you will marry?"

"No, I know no one. Why do you ask?"

Ƒáeláƞ took a deep breath before he spoke. "As I told you the other night I was ten when your parents disappeared."

Mỷrἇ looked at Ƒáeláƞ who refused to look at her. "Yes I remember."

"Your Father approached mine a week before your family disappeared. He asked my Father for permission to engage me to you." Ƒáeláƞ looked at her. "I would protect you from the men out to get you."

Mỷrἇ was quiet as she thought about that. She had to admit that she was pleased by what Ƒáeláƞ had told her. So far he was the most handsome man that she'd seen in the village. She felt right when she was around him. Whenever Mỷrἇ was away from Ƒáeláƞ her magical sense told her where he was. It was the same with Jåcóbӱ.

"I accept."

Ƒáeláƞ looked at her with a handsome smile. "I will speak to the elders. We can be married within the week if you wish."

"Let me speak to my brother."

Ƒáeláƞ nodded. "That is to be expected. I would like to talk to him to. Both of you are going to start coming into your powers. You will be stronger than your brother. Evil people will come for you. Jåcóbӱ will need to be ready to protect you."

Mỷrἇ gave Ƒáeláƞ a sweet smile before she reached over and slid her hand in his. "Come over to our hut at dusk. Jåcóbӱ is always more personable at dusk."
