Mỷrἇ was exhausted. She had just finished helping Ƒáeláƞ andJåcóbӱ set up their hut. Little Dárkmëre was a year old and Mỷrἇ was pregnant with her second child. Mỷrἇ hoped for a little girl this time. If it was a girl then she would be named after Myra's mother.
Mỷrἇ placed a hand to the small of her back as she wiped sweat off of her forehead. She gazed out over the camp and let out a sigh. Once the camp was fully set up, Mỷrἇ would walk a protective circle around the camp with Hîkîoťo. While they were doing that the men would be setting traps around the camp to deter enemies and wild animals.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine Jåcóbӱ. Just tired."
Jåcóbӱ nodded as he stopped beside Myra. His gaze settled on her growing stomach. He placed a gentle hand on her stomach and smiled as he felt the baby kick. Jåcóbӱ raised his eyes and met Mỷrἇ's gaze.
"I am happy for you sister."
Mỷrἇ gave Jåcóbӱ a tired smile. "Thank you. I still hope that you'll find a woman, but I know why you won't."
Jåcóbӱ shrugged. "I always knew that if we didn't marry, then I would remain unattached and I'm okay with it. I'd rather put my energy into protecting you and your children. You are getting stronger and more people are going to be coming after you."
"I know Jåcóbӱ. Why can't they just leave me be?"
"They fear you. That is why."
Mỷrἇ and Jåcóbӱ looked over to see Hîkîoťo approaching with a toddling Dárkmëre holding her hand. She gazed at them with her magical eyes before she picked Dárkmëre up. "You are powerful. You're parents were killed because of their power. The power you hold extends beyond the Disaster that changed our world. People will never stop hunting you, not until the day you die."
"Is there anything we can do?"
Hîkîoťo poked Jåcóbӱin the chest with a sharp finger. "You can protect her and I will teach her how to wield magic for the greater good. Without Mỷrἇ, we are lost. The world cannot survive another Great Disaster."
A frown appeared on Mỷrἇ's face. "Do you think that my power would increase if we move to a place of power?"
"It's a good thought. The old people used them before the Fall. There are many sites all over the world. Some will entail crossing the ocean. I would go to the standing stones or the ruins in the desert. Another place to go would be to the mountain where the Gods dwell. They are far older than the metal monsters our ancestors left us."
"I will talk to Ƒáeláƞ."
Hîkîoťo handed Dárkmëre to Mỷrἇ and patted her arm. "That is the advice my mentor gave me. Go, spend time amongst the ruins. You will learn much there. If you decide to go you have my blessing."
Mỷrἇ watched Hîkîoťo walked away. She looked up at Jåcóbӱ who shrugged. Mỷrἇ shook her head and playfully shoved him as she headed into her hunt. Ƒáeláƞ would be back later and Mỷrἇ wanted to get everything in order for when he'd come home. She would talk with Ƒáeláƞ about what Hîkîoťo had said.
