Mỷrἇ hated goodbyes. She had said a lot of goodbyes over the years and this one was by far the hardest. Mỷrἇ wiped at the tears that fell down her face as she headed towards the cave where she and Ƒáeláƞ would end their lives. Her children still didn't know and she preferred it that way. Jåcóbӱ and Äɱďėƞ would let them know after the war was won.
A hand slid into her hand. Mỷrἇ looked up and gave Ƒáeláƞ a teary eyed smile as she squeezed his hand. He brought her hand up and kissed her on the knuckles. His gaze was reassuring as he gave her tender smile.
"Are we doing the right thing Ƒáeláƞ?"
Ƒáeláƞ released Mỷrἇ's hand so that he could put an arm around her shoulder. "I believe that we are. I am no good to the others the way that I am. We both know that I wouldn't survive very long in the fight that is to come. This way we are giving those that we love a fighting chance."
Mỷrἇ nodded as the hill they were climbing grew steep. She didn't speak till they got to the top. Mỷrἇ turned her gaze back the way they came trying in vain to see her children and brother. They were too far away for her to see. Mỷrἇ sighed as she turned to face the cave that still lay ahead of them.
"We have much to do and little time to do it."
Ƒáeláƞ stopped her as she went to go forward. At Mỷrἇ's curious look he explained why he had stopped her. "We have plenty of time to get things ready. Before our lives end, I want to hold you close and whisper in your ear."
Excitement raced through Mỷrἇ at Ƒáeláƞ's words. She looked up at the cave before she looked back at Ƒáeláƞ. "I bet you that I can reach the cave first."
A grin spread across Ƒáeláƞ's face. "I accept your challenge. If I win I want you on your knees before me."
Mỷrἇ laughed as she leaned forward and pressed herself against Ƒáeláƞ. "If I win I you to be submissive to me."
Before Ƒáeláƞ could speak Mỷrἇ turned and darted up the hill towards the cave at a dead sprint. She could hear Ƒáeláƞ behind her. Ƒáeláƞ caught her just as she reached the cave. Mỷrἇ let out a shriek that quickly turned to laughter as Ƒáeláƞ caught her and threw her over his shoulder. Ƒáeláƞ's laughter joined hers as they disappeared into the cave.
Both knew that time was short, but there was enough time for love. There was always time for love.
