Äçåçiå stumbled as the wall of light washed over her. It was filled with warmth and love. It took her breath away. Äçåçiå frantically brushed hair out of her face. She looked around to see her companions looking about with confusion. Her brother's wore identical frowns. Äçåçiå's gaze found her Uncle Jåcóbӱ. His face was a mask of sorrow. Äçåçiå frowned as she saw Äɱďėƞ touch him on the shoulder and whisper soft words.

"What happened?" Äçåçiå asked as walked up to her uncle.

Jåcóbӱ looked down at her before his gaze shifted to her brothers. Äɱďėƞ stepped forward and spoke when Jacoby didn't say anything.

"The wall of light was a spell. Your parents gave up their life source so that we could win this war."

"What? Why?" Äçåçiå cried.

"Ƒáeláƞ has been sick for as long as Mỷrἇ and I knew him," Jåcóbӱ explained. "He wasn't strong enough to survive this war. They did the only thing they could to help."

Äçåçiå turned and buried her face in Dárkmëre's shoulder. Âkįŀ stepped up close to her and so he could rub her back. Tears coursed down Äçåçiå's cheeks as she listened to Jacoby and Äɱďėƞ offer soothing words of comfort.

After what felt like an eternity Äçåçiå pulled herself together so that she could look up at Jacoby and Äɱďėƞ . "What do we do from here?"

Äɱďėƞ's gaze moved to the north where they were headed. "We continue on. A war is to be fought. If we felt your parent's loving sacrifice then so too did our enemy."
