"Are you going to tell me what your dad said?" Grayson asked as soon as I hung up the phone. I turned my back and wiped the little tear that some how snuck out of my eye, off of my cheek. "Hey it's okay." Grayson said jumping up and giving me a hug from behind. I turned around and wrapped my arms around his waist as well.
"I don't even know how to explain what he told me." I sighed trying not to cry anymore but it didn't work.
"Do you want me to stay in here with you tonight?" he asks pulling back from the hug a little and moving my head up by the chin to look in his eyes.
"Uh n- no. I just want to be alone." I breathe pulling away from his arms completely and getting under my covers.
"You know I'm here for you right?" Grayson asks and I smile a bit.
"I know. Just now isn't the best time." I say turning my head around to give him an assuring smile.
"Okay well I'm right across the hall when you want to talk." he ends, walking over to me and rubbing my forehead with his thumb before walking out of my room and shutting the door behind him.
I know I could've talked to Grayson about what I was just told but I was too upset. I needed to take my mind off of everything I just heard. "I won't do it. I can't do it. It will make Grayson more mad at me than ever before." I whispered inside my head just in case someone could hear my thoughts that a few minutes ago, were screaming. "I have to." I whispered once and that was enough convincing. I opened my door only a crack and saw that Grayson's lights were off so I slid on my knee high boots and my Hollister jacket and slipped out my window.
Grayson's POV
I really really want to know what Scarlette's dad told her but I could tell that I wasn't going to get anywhere today. I tried to sleep it off but I kept waking up because I was scared for her. I knew that even if I did go into her room she was either asleep or would say that she didn't feel like talking so my only option was to stay in bed and just keep squirming around until I got comfortable. It's going to be a long night.

"Good morning." my mom greeted from the couch in the living room.
"Morning." I mumbled still half asleep. "Is anyone else up?" I asked walking into the kitchen and grabbing me a glass of milk.
"No I don't think so." she replied. I walked over to the couch and set down on the opposite end of my mom.
"What is this show?" I asked looking away from the tv then over to my mom.
"Well first it's a movie and second it's Dirty Dancing." she replied and when I looked back at the tv I knew that I recognized it.
"Oh cool." I smiled in return.
"Mornin' ma!" Ethan called from the stairs then just like I did, he walked into the kitchen.
"Morning babe." mom said raising her head high enough to see what Ethan was doing. "Do you guys want me to make you something for breakfast or do you want me to go and grab something?" she asked sitting up and turning the volume down on the tv.
"I'm good with either." I replied with an honest smile.
"Okay. What about you E?" she asked standing up from the couch and walking into the kitchen where Ethan was standing.
"I kind of want donuts." he smirked and my mom shook her head and laughed.
"How did I know?" she smiled rustling with Ethan's hair before sliding on some of her shoes by the door and putting on her coat.
"I love you!" Ethan said with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah." my mom replied with a wink and a wave goodbye.
"So what did you do last night?" Ethan asked with a smirk.
"I went to bed?" I responded questionably. "Why?" I added.
"Because I noticed you walk up with Scarlette and you didn't come out for a while." he answered innocently followed by a sip of water.
"Trust me nothing happened. Nothing ever will happen." I assured pushing past lightly to put my cup in the sink.
"What ever you say." Ethan smiled. "Oh you may wanna wake her up and let her know that mom is bringing home breakfast." Ethan added before running up the stairs and into his room.
I walked up the steps and knocked lightly on the door and after not getting a response I opened the door slowly and walked in. She was just sitting on her bed with her knees up to her chest and she was rocking back and forth.
"You okay?" I asked moving my head to the side to try and get a clear view of her face but she just turned the other way. "Scarlette!" I added on and that's when she turned her head slightly with a smile.
"I think you should go." she said and I got very confused so I walked closer and turned her head towards me to look at her bloodshot eyes.
"Scarlette." I sighed staring deeply into her eyes. "Why?" I questioned.
"You wouldn't understand." she laughed before pushing my hand away and trying to focus on one object in the room but her eyes wouldn't let her.
"But I want to. Please talk to me." I begged but she shook her head.
"It's too late. I've already done it and there's nothing you can do about it." she smiled and when she tried to stand up she almost collapsed so I caught her in my arms and placed her back on the bed.
"I can stop it from happening again." I persuaded but she wasn't paying attention.
"Look at the little bird in the tree." she smiled innocently. "It probably has a great life. It probably comes home to a mom and a dad, who never ever lie to him because they know that it would hurt their baby. They probably never get into arguments and never tell each other to go to hell. God that must be the life." she said letting a single tear run down her freckle covered cheeks.
"What do you mean?" I asked hoping that that meant she would tell me what her dad told her.
"I'm so glad you have a happy family." she smiled putting her hand up to my cheek and rubbing it with her thumb. She sat up a little bit she tried to pull me in for a kiss but I knew what would happen if I let it go farther so I quickly pulled away and walked towards the door.
"M- my mom is bringing home breakfast. Just drink some water then come down when you aren't high please." I whispered before shutting the door behind me.
