Chapter 47: CODE X

GRAY IVAN SILVAN'S POV

I'm somewhat happy dahil ako ang magiging escort ni Amber sa kanyang debut. Galing kami sa main laboratory dahil sa suicide ni Ma'am Sera. A suicide forced and intimidated by X. My guess is that Ma'am Sera already knew his identity bago pa man ito nagpakamatay. I don't know how I should put it. Nagpakamatay o pwersahang pinatay.

The main lab is full of baffling codes left by Ma'am Sera herself for us to know about X's intervention in this case and I'm positive na nag-iwan din siya ng mga codes at clues tungkol sa katauhan ni X. I just can't let these three people with me know that I will be back in the crime scene later for further investigation. I cannot let my guards down. I don't want to risk neither Amber nor any other people na maaring idamay ni X. When I received the letter with a line from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's character, which refers to Irene Adler, I figured out that X is really after Amber's life. Isa pa ay hindi sinasabi sa akin ni Amber na ilang beses na pala siyang pinagtangkaan ni X.

The big question there is WHY? Why is he after Amber's life? Why is he doing such things? I fucking don't understand why.

"Gray-chan! You're spaced out," Marion said and waived her hands in front of me. "The case is over, bakit tulala ka pa?"

I can't help but pout. A childish gesture but that's me. I'm weird at times kahit hindi halata. I keep my weirdness only to myself. You wouldn't believe it too but I'm also a mental cussing machine. I used to cuss mentally but I never voice out any of those. That's a big no-no. Isa pa kapag nalaman ni Mommy ang tungkol doon, I would receive a pinch on my cheeks.

"Gray-chan!" tawag ulit ni Marion sa akin. This girl is loud and annoying. She's too clingy and territorial. Oh, maybe not territorial. I should say envious. Ayon sa mga kaklase ko ay pinagbawalan sila ni Marion na magpapansin sa akin. I don't know why she did it though.

"Sorry. I'm just really hungry," wika ko sa kanila. I even took a spoonful of food and chewed it.

Amber was staring at me. I don't know what she's thinking though. That's one of the thing I hate about her. I'm good in deducing things yet I cannot deduce anything about her.

"Silvan, just make sure you'll be a good escort to Amber," wika ni Alonzo at tumingin kay Amber. "Special A, just tell me if this guy here does anything stupid, okay? I will give him my Saitama punch immediately!"

"I can handle myself," Amber said and that's a big lie. Of course she cannot handle herself that's why I'm protecting her. I just don't know how would she end up kapag muli na namang umatake sa kanya si X, indirectly.

Inseparable? That's so gay but that's what we really were. Ngayon lang naman kami nagkahiwalay nang lumipat ako sa Bridle. That's when I realized that Athena High School was owned by Vander Mafia. It's one of their front institutions that will cover up their true business which is an illegal one.

I decided to transfer nang masyado na nilang pinapakialaman ang buhay ko. Cronus, my biological father, wanted me to join them. He said that my high IQ would be a great help to the mafia. I refused and he agreed on my refusal but he wants me to eventually visit him. This time ay tumanggi ako dahil pakiramdam ko ay kukunin lang niya ang loob ko and in the end, he would still want to used me for the benefit of the mafia.

I also met my brother Cooler. He is a year older than me. Pinipilit niya rin akong tumulong sa mafia and that's what creates the gap between us. I would have befriended him if only he got the same ideology as mine. But it's not. He thinks nothing but the mafia. Maybe it's because of our father's influence.
